Age: 13 (as of the end of the manga)/ 23 in TYL verses/interactions
Born the only child of a famous actress, Nagi was often shunted from house to house and secluded in rooms. To keep her mother out of scandals, Nagi rarely had contact with her only parent. This neglect led Nagi to develop a strong independent streak, but also decayed her sense of worth and self-preservation.
As such, she dove in front of a car to save a stray cat. The resulting crash crippled the right side of her body. Her eye was destroyed, ribs crushed and organs on the verge of failure Nagi’s only hope was a kidney donation from her mother in order to stabilize her body while awaiting other transplants and other procedures to save her life.
Since Nagi’s mother had her reputation, body and beauty to preserve, she fully abandoned her daughter into the care of the hospital.
Bedridden, alone and knowing she was slated for death, Nagi ‘created’ a world for herself, hidden within her consciousness. It is this world of peaceful lake, wild flowers and rolling hills and a blue sky that would make Studio Gibli jealous, she meets Mukuro Rokudo.
What starts as a meeting of minds launches Nagi right into a battle between rival mafia factions over a ring and a position among the Tenth Generation of the Vongola family. Now given herself a new name, Chrome adventures takes her to a future where a reality warping man-child with a penchant for sweets. Fighting yet another rival mafia family, kidnapped by a predecessor who was disappointed in the results of the Vongola Legacy. Oh, and she helped turned literal babies regain their ability to grow up.
Through all these adventures and mishaps, Chrome has learned from her master, Mukuro; how to become an effective Illusionist. Her frequent summons are pillars of fire, writhing balls of serpents, and most recently a murderous murder of crows.
Since her body is sustained by illusions, Chrome must maintain at least part of her concentration on preserving her phantom organs. Coupled with her upbringing, or rather lack of one; and no contact with others and the outside world until her teens; she is often preserved as very reserved, quiet and perhaps a bit spacey at times.
After all her mind is preoccupied with quite a lot...
