Art study of J.C. Leyendecker's Welcome Home with Mrs Hudson and Dr Watson.

This was the first Holmes Leyendecker study I did, before my study of Consolation and it was fun to dry and figure out what to use and how to use it to get close to replicating his style in digital form.

honestly at this point it's my fault for continuously getting into pieces of media that involve a) one character faking their death, and b) their closest friend not getting a hug upon finding out that they're alive after all

listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream off, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.

There's a funny dynamic reversal in the russian Sherlock Holmes series, compared to the Soviet one. (At least this is how I see it, I could be way off😂).

In the Soviet series, Watson is a young army doctor coming to London and befriends this older weirdo.

Holmes is almost like a doc Brown to his Marty. I love it they are so soft and sweet with eachother.

And in the 2013 Russian version, Watson is an older army doctor, RIDDLED with PTSD. He is like a traumatized guard dog. Would love nothing more than take a nap or work on his writing. Then he meets this freaky, super smart but manic guy in his twenties and moves in with him! He even starts teaching him how to box!

I think they are more bound together in: "nobody can handle being around me but you". But it's still sweet.☺️

Anyway I haven't finished either show fully yet, but this is the vibes I'm picking up on. I just love the different types of age gap friendship on display here.

And more SH fans should check out the 2013 russian show, it's very fun!😂

Watson is very happy with this development, as he is now able to enjoy his late morning/afternoon tea without having to worry about Sherlock during his melancholic episodes

I played the Beekeeper's Picnic all through last week and forgot to draw something. I truly loved the game and would recommend it to anyone who loves Johnlock or Sherlock Holmes in general.

But also, I kept on noticing that one frame in Sherlock's walking animation.

Okay I have never considered that Mrs Hudson might be able to play the piano? That would be awesome! I always interpreted the storys as her owning the house/flat(s) which means she should have be able to afford a piano. Am i wrong about that?

I am wondering about her educational and social background now. Is it likely that she could read sheet music? Could she, if she is a musical person, accompany Holmes when he plays classical pieces on the violin? Or would it be more likely that she'd play traditional songs by ear, and Holmes improvising the violin part?

Does anyone here have ideas/information about that?
