A sister! Stella wanted to know who Silas’ sister was. It was interesting to see how people behaved around those that they cared about. And a fiance. That was the word for people that were going to get married but hadn’t quite gotten to the actual ceremony yet. Stella thought human weddings sounded exciting. “It sounds like you have good reasons to live here! As for us, uh, I guess different reasons for everyone. I haven’t exactly delved deep into the why, but probably job stuff. I only just moved here after doing my own thing for some years after high school. Didn’t have much going for me either, and I missed family too much. Plus I wanted to see the odd little mermaid town. But I’ll be okay up here. It’s still nice to talk to you.” Falling was still pretty daunting.
Tiktok… Stella glanced to one side thoughtfully, trying to remember if clock noises were a type of storytelling that she was familiar with. Nope. She did not know anything about that. “Yeah, sure, whatever you want!” Pumpkin spiced lattes were also a very new concept, but she liked how the phrase sounded. Pumpkin spiced lattes. Autumn wouldn’t be for some months more, right? Oh, she couldn’t wait at all. “If there were no pumpkin spiced lattes, which would you pick? But yes, I like summer best. It’s the season that feels the most freeing. All of the seasons have their interesting nuances, though.” Stella was much more interested in the rainy season than anything, but she wasn’t sure if Port Vale had one of those.
Silas raised an eyebrow at her response and regarded her curiously. He didn’t know what it was about her, but he gave her a weird vibe. It wasn’t exactly bad, per se, but she did kind of strike him as rather odd. Then again, humans always made him wary. They always seemed deceptively sweet, especially in this town. “Yeah... I guess I do. I didn’t really think so at first what with us, or Siobhan rather, jumping the gun and moving to a fishing town with a mermaid fetish just because some hot dude swept her off her feet--which, mind you, I did warn her that maybe they were moving to fast, but does she listen? Of course not,” he said with a huff. “What can you do? They’re hopelessly in love or whatever. She’s lucky I’m beginning to warm up to this place,” he said with a grin.
“Well, I’m a fan of a good ol’ caramel macchiato, for sure,” he said, taking out his phone and pulling up the app. “So just be yourself, completely natural. My fans with love you,” he said, running his fingers through his hair and angling the phone along his good side while still keeping her in frame. “Hey guys! It’s ya boi. I’m here with a new resident in town. Her name is Stella, and she’s just chilling on top of this metal climbing dome thing. Pretty cool, huh? So Stella, what do you like about town so far?”
