Just added “ai” to my libre office dictionary because I REFUSE to give it capitalization. It doesn’t deserve to have its acronym capitalized like it’s a proper noun. Sit down, shitty ai.
Just had someone tell me “That might be true, but I don’t believe it.”
Ummmmm‽
important reminder that most people you follow online are significantly lamer than you think they are including me. and if you feel insecure comparing yourself to someone online: DON'T. theyre probably also lame and weird. most people on the internet are
reblog if you're also lame and weird.
If anything I ever wrote was up for a film/tv adaptation, I’d say no. There’s NO WAY they could do what I see in my head justice.
Audiobook pricing is absolutely bonkers. A book by a relatively unknown author with a meh voice actor? $25 Very well known author with a full cast? $12
Yes, I get volume pricing, but COME ON! I’m not paying $25 for a 12 hour recording when I can pay $7.99 for a 32 hour recording.
Back to visual reading for this book.
idk who needs to hear this but it’s healthier for you to just accept that you’re gonna be kinda fat than it is to live the rest of your life miserably trying to monitor yourself to maintain a skinny weight your body doesn’t want to hold onto
Just got the BIGGEST ick from a mmc calling the Sears Tower “Willis Tower”. No one actually from the Chicagoland area would ever call it that.
60% of the way through the book and I’m seriously considering dnfing now…
Not that I don't wanna read about Threshing Day for the other characters (I really do), but imagine if the new release had been about the five days of Violet getting t*rtured in Xaden's POV instead. What does a girl have to do to get into that man's headspace in Iron Flame because I think that whatever the hell scared him during those days is exactly what drove him to put Violet in his throne before leaving at the end of Onyx Storm
Found my 53yo very-much-not-online father in the kitchen today meticulously arranging cutlery on the countertop and i was like 'what are you doing' and he looked up at me with the world's most shit-eating grin and said "Your mother told me this is how you rick-roll the Youth" and i looked over and it was fucking. Loss.jpg.
i must stress that he's never seen the original comic. My mother simply showed him the shorthand symbol and he memorized it. As far as he is aware this is just a fucking hieroglyph that deals instant psychic damage to everyone under the age of 30
im literally in tears what the fuck
I know we talk a lot about the literacy crisis and the horrible anti-intellectualism happening rn but I think we need to talk more about how much of an entitlement complex the stupidest among us have developed
“what’s stopping you from-“ listen i am so so sleepy
It’s not often I arc read for a debut novel, but usually they are interesting enough to keep my attention. Not the book I just started. It is awful. The writing style is…rough. Huge blocks of pedantic prose, quotes from obscure figures that don’t quite make sense in the context. Honestly, nothing makes sense.
And I’m bored. SO BORED! The author has already contacted me once to get my feedback; how do I tell her it’s boring and awful? (It’s only 180ish pages—I should be able to finish it in a couple hours—but I can’t get through chapter 2. THAT’S how bad it is)
I’d rather read what my students slap together in an hour than whatever mess this is.
Have you ever seen a man (or woman) so beautiful that you are frozen? Stock-still?
I’ve met wildly attractive people, celebrities that people swoon over, and a man that is so pretty he’s hard to look away from (who chews with his mouth open and laughs like a hyena—so disappointing), but I’ve never met someone so gorgeous that I couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think.
So when I read about this happening in a good, oh, 80% of books I read, I can’t help but wonder what gods/goddesses are roaming the planet in their world.
Also, I’ve never been rendered so infatuated with someone that I turn into a flustered mess. That’s just my default setting…
Hmmm…maybe this is the asexuality speaking…
