121620. couple of days into winter break! final grades are rolling in, ive started a show with some friends (crash landing on you— highly recommend), and ive been spending most of my time working on these holiday cards. and it's snowing!!!

i really like how stardew valley has a lot of different family models that interact very well with the cozy town dynamic?

a family can be a single mom and her young adult daughter

a family can also be a woman who has a son from a previous relationship,  remarrying and having a daughter with her second husband. the half-siblings look close in age, so you can tell this family has been established for a long time

a family can also be a grand-aunt taking care of her grand-niece (whose parents are not in the picture) and her young adult nephew. this man and this little girl also have a found father-daughter family dynamic between them

a family can be two sisters living together, too

a family can be two grandparents taking care of their grandson (whose parents are not in the picture)

a family can be a pretty standard nuclear family, but the mom, the eldest son and the youngest are all waiting for dad to come home from military service

heck, a family can be two old guys living together in a cottage in the mountains and giving swords to people

i just think this is neat
