When God says no, it can be heartbreaking, suffocating and something that will cause you to examine your entire life. But it is also for a greater good, a good that has not been seen by our eyes, a good that has not been touched by our hands, a good that will ultimately bring glory to Christ and a good that will ultimately bring about restoration to ourselves. For now, it’s okay to mourn and cry out; Christ understands the pain of rejection more than anyone in all of existence.

still trying to wrap my head + heart around what happened yesterday. there were so many prayers answered this weekend, from planning and executing Christmas services (plural!!), to getting to do it all with the people with the people I get to work with and call my family, to things that wouldn't seem like answered prayers but in His faithfulness and goodness totally are. this is life right now, this is how I get to close off my 2017 year (don't worry, there will probably be a new year post). my heart is full of gratitude, thankfulness and love for every person who made this weekend happen and every person who got to hear the story of Jesus, at churches and services all over. . . . wishing everyone a happy Christmas and safe holidays. xx. (at Church In Toronto)
11AM was so much fun, 7PM can only get better. . . . Grab an early dinner (or not, cause our Christmas cafe is open at 6:30PM!) and head over to @churchintoronto for our evening service. It's gonna be packed with good news and goodness. (at Church In Toronto)
come one, come all. whether you have plans or don't, come and say hello, have some treats, sing/listen to some carols and get in on some Christmas cheer. I will say that this year, with friends from all over the city, I'm definitely wishing I could be in two-three-four different places at once cause I just wanna go to all the Christmas services being put on this year! . . . CHRISTMAS at CIT! *Two*services for all those with crazy weekend plans // 11am & 7pm . . . also for all those who are youth (grades 7-12),@cityouth_ is having an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest + Games Night tomorrow! Saturday at 5PM ;) (at Church In Toronto)
coming at you this week with Christmas posts because it's now less than SEVEN days away from Christmas @ CIT and I'm only gonna get more and more excited as this week goes on. head over to @churchintoronto for beautiful photos as we countdown to Christmas Eve, click on the link in bio for more info & invite all your friends, family, different circles of people out for a fun Christmas time 🎄🎄🎄 (at Church In Toronto)
en bref, I don't ever want to stop learning. and also, I need to spend less time on social media and more time reading. - - - - this is a KEEPMEACCOUNTABLEGUYS post versus a lookatallmybooks post, because there are stacks of books in my room that could go in this post if it was the latter (Harry Potter ftw). some of these books have been sitting around for years, others are half-read, some re-reads, and then lots of that new-new. I know that there are a TON of other books and genres (and actually guys, I love me a good read so send me your reading lists), but this here is reflective of what God has been calling me into as a leader, a worshipper, a mentor, a peer, a friend, a daughter, etc. this doesn't mean this is all that I'm reading, just an updated stack of books I've gathered recently and am really excited to digest. I find it easier to learn when I'm taught by somebody so this is a feat of its own -- experience tells me I won't make it through, that I don't have enough self-discipline, that I'll just end up falling asleep reading some of these, but God tells me I can and that actually, I need to. so... that's that. hit me up if you're curious to know what I learn (and also to check that I'm actually reading).
Life is an awful, ugly place to not have a best friend.

It is also good to love: because love is difficult. For one human being to love another human being: that is perhaps the most difficult task that has been entrusted to us, the ultimate task, the final test and proof, the work for which all other work is merely preparation. That is why young people, who are beginners in everything, are not yet capable of love: it is something they must learn. With their whole being, with all their forces, gathered around their solitary, anxious, upward-beating heart, they must learn to love... Loving does not at first mean merging, surrendering, and uniting with another person (for what would a union be of two people who are unclarified, unfinished, and still incoherent?), it is a high inducement for the individual to ripen, to become something in himself, to become world, to become world in himself for the sake of another person; it is a great, demanding claim on him, something that chooses him and calls him to vast distances...

thankful for @thekatsmeeoww and our mutual interest and love for brush calligraphy (amongst a lot of other similar interests). and to @viacalligraphy for the wonderful workshop and for being an amazing person and creative person. (at #Hashtag Gallery)
@johnmayer // your set list killed and was freakishly on point. your talent and skills were everything and more than I expected to see live. you are such an inspiration creatively and musically. you honoured the greats that played alongside you and came before you. you also came with humour, confidence and humility. what. a. night. I'll end with what I said to my friends halfway though last night, "How do you NOT see him in August?!" #untilthen #thesearchforeverythingtour major credits to @nathanpaultaylor for the photo (AND the production of last night. still so cool to find out you were a part of this and Colour).
