watching certain one piece fans who clearly don’t know what foreshadowing means say details A, B, and C (which are call backs, coincidences, and recons) are all godly foreshadowing make me feel insane. It was detail D that was foreshadowing this whole time but only a few people noticed because they don’t think everything else is also foreshadowing.
More of my dearest kind of wasp inspired demon guy. This was originally supposed to be a swap au to a different au of mine but it’s very quickly becoming its own au🤷♂️

Now that I’ve slept I can actually talk about my thoughts and such related to my drawing… minor spoilers for post enies lobby arc onwards
In real life back when people didn’t really understand what solar eclipses were, reasonably they thought something was eating the sun or taking it away. The key point here is that they thought it was gone.
I’ve read the Ace novels, I’ve religiously rewatched every single episode he’s in, reread most chapters of the manga he’s in… so I feel like I can accurately make the comparison. Ace was the sun in some shape or form, whether that be his kindness that he showed Deuce, or his finishing attack against Teach.
Ultimately, despite all his light, Ace was snuffed out by the dark. Literally in the sense that he was defeated by Teach, and more metaphorically with how he was viewed. Due to being Roger’s son, very few people truly saw him as a person, the government only seeing him as a threat to be annihilated.
In that sense, the darkness was the judgment and self-hatred. Even so, Ace was still there, that motivation to be his own person despite it all partiality thanks to friends and family there was still that corona around the moon.
Another thought about it was that, to many people, after Ace’s death he was gone. But to some like Luffy, Sabo, Yamato, Otama, and the remaining Whitebeard pirates there’s still pieces of Ace to be found. Again, comparable to the corona of an eclipse.
When it comes to Ace’s will who else would represent the light returning other than Luffy and Sabo. Especially Luffy. He managed to push past all that darkness from the grief of losing Ace and emerge brighter than ever.

So those were my main thoughts about this. Though I’m curious if anybody else might interpret the idea of Ace as a solar eclipse differently.

Au of an au of mine where Ace has a weird ass little kid and he’s stranded on an island with him idk
(in the original au Ace is also a creature like his son, but we’re not worrying abt that rn) (also the little one’s name is Jane and Jane WILL be a reoccurring character here from now on)
Debating writing a short fic where Ace contracts some sort of brain eating disease and there’s nothing anybody can do but try to make him feel okay while he gradually forgets how to function and fails to remember where he is or who’s around him
sometimes I wonder if I’m the only person who puts Ace in situations like that cause the most I see is familial abuse, rarely cannibalism, and also the obvious passive suicidal behavior
debating writing cause I’m scared to stand out among the other angsty Ace fics
