happy easter everyone! i hope the easter bunny came and hid lots of eggs for you :)

my easter tradition with my cousins is watching the max and ruby easter episode, where max steals the chocolate chicken from ruby after she won the egg hunt. i have no idea how she missed so many brightly colored eggs. she wasn’t looking hard enough i guess

oh by the way, hoops told yoyo about the easter photoshoot but couldn’t find him afterwards. looks like he took the opportunity to sneak into my easter candy

oh i have this one! she has holes in her ears because the set she came with also came with sunglasses you would stick in those holes. but im not sure why subsequent maltese releases in this mold had those holes too…

me: oh this would make for a great backdrop!

some of my toys decided to brave the cold and travel outside for a snow day! gelato, ice, and their new business partner snailana split the cutant opened up a pretzel shop (they really wanted to do an ice cream stand, but ice managed to convince them that no one would buy ice cream in this cold weather…)

chevy and coron agreed! (i got some more japanese zoobles!)

they invited panky to join them, but he did not want to go outside.

pokarin and heaton cheer yukinotchi the ice skater on!

the snow queen ivory ice crystals made an appearance and so did santa! mittens wondered where santa’s other reindeer were because they sure weren’t helping…

and of course silver and maru had a great time playing out in the snow!

maru loves her new radio! silver… well it’s the thought that counts (he has no idea what it is…)

then it was off to the rainbow trout restaurant for christmas dinner with friends!

Do any hamtaro collectors know about the Cocotama toy line? They are very much a spiritual successor to the Hamtaro Epoch toys. They have the same squishy figurines with holes to attach them to playsets and accessories. They're so similar you would expect them to be made by Epoch, but they were produced by Bandai with no Epoch involvement as far as I can tell. I'd like to know the backstory on how they went about producing such a similar toy line

I got this set to see what I thought of the playsets and to grab some of the figurines! The figures are beautiful and I adore them, the playset has an amazing, detailed sculpt, but I'm not super sure about the color scheme in person compared to the stock photos.

I may try to get some of the other sets when I feel I can display them better!

i love collecting cocotama! they are pretty similar to epoch’s hamtaro line now that i think about it. i remember back in the day when the cocotama anime was coming out people called it a “ripoff” of hamtaro. they are… very different animes XD

i got the top secret journal! it's... a little lacking compared to what i thought it was going to be like, but there's still some cute things to note!

i guess i thought there would be more banter or interesting facts about from hoops and yoyo (and everyone else too). but unfortunately, most of the pages are blank for you to write on with only small renders of the gang and speech bubbles :/

oh well, there's still fun things i noticed. first, this book was published in 2011.

i can't share every render, but one thing i noticed were some characters rarely seen in h&y media, like the blue bird who appeared in early homepages, chili bear, puck, and newbie, who i didn't even know about until recently.

yoyo's best friend is hoops (awww)

hoops' best friend is newbie (but he's not sure what he is)

hoops likes to be in charge (which yoyo says isn't a secret and that he is a loud talker)

hoops oftentimes goes too far with a practical joke (yoyo says it's been 17 times)

hoops likes being small

piddles is bilingual (cool fact that carried over from the ecards!)

yoyo loves donuts

yoyo doesn't have elbows (huh?)

piddles' big dream is going to move to los angeles and become a rock star

another thing i noticed is there's a place to put a lock. maybe it came with a lock and key? hmmmm
