would love it if for season three. none of the characters. percy, thalia, grover, zoe, or frederick. know just how badly annabeth was tortured until they arrive on mount tam. see her in chains. bruised. malnourished. weak. multiple strands of dark grey hair. and all five of them pause. look at luke. grab a weapon. and simultaneously step foward to kick his ass. and then artemis has to remind them to diversify their efforts.

After Nico dies, he has a wish.

He chooses rebirth and Hades puts him in the same family of Bianca’s rebirth. And when Bianca dies, he puts her in that same family again. The loop goes on. Nico and Bianca remains together: maybe as mother and son, uncle and niece, sometimes siblings again, cousins even. 

It can be anything, different names and different status, but none of them matters so much - as long as they can watch each other grow up like they could have been.

Even death can’t seperate them.

So one thing I’d really like to see (but honestly don’t think I will) is Percy and Nico really reconcile. I know they had this little “clear the air” moment when Nico admitted he had previously had a crush on Percy, but to be honest that was never really the problem with their relationship.

Percy is a great character who I do love and love to route for, but it always bothered me how terrible he was to Nico. I realize Nico tricked Percy ONCE in an attempt to get information about his mother (shortly after he lost his sister no less) but even made Hades promise not to hurt Percy. He also more than made up for it (apologizing, leading Percy to the Styx, convincing his father to raise an army of the dead) and Percy continues to bring it up and tell other people about it, giving them a bad impression of Nico before even meeting them even though Percy knows Nico already has issues relating to others and making friends.

He’s just such a nice character but seems to have no empathy towards Nico (Literally choking him after Nico tricks him, admitting to Nico he doesn’t think he’ll ever fit in at camp half blood, considering throwing bread at him so Nico would stop groaning after going through literal hell and being locked in an airless jar for weeks, etc.) Meanwhile Nico keeps doing Percy massive favors and consistently fighting by Percy’s side. He goes through Tartarus, leads the remaining 7 to the doors of death, Shadow travels the Athena Parthenos to camp even though it might kill him, etc all for Percy and for camp half blood, even though neither have ever accepted him. Percy will take his aid but never treats Nico as a friend. For most of the books not only does Nico have a crush on Percy but Percy is really his only connection to the living world, the only human interaction he really gets. It’s just kind of tragic to see him treated this was by a character that’s usually kind and sociable.

It doesn’t seem like Percy realizes he’s doing it and Nico doesn’t seem to realize Percy is mistreating him. I want it called out in world as a point of self reflection for Percy and a point of self worth and healing for Nico. I like the idea of them being genuine friends after all this time but I really can’t see it without that realization and acknowledgment.

Headcanon Hades used to always hold Bianca’s hands and cradle little Nico with the other whenever they walked on the fondamente in Venice - no matter how high the railings nor how wide and deserted the streets were.

He didn’t like it when his children getting too close to the waters, his brother’s realm. Bianca whined all the time about how it made her feel like a child, to which Nico echoed before being reminded that he was, in fact, a child. And then he would be sullen just because he didn’t get to wander off for exploring. 

However, gradually, Bianca had come to like her father’s cold, large hands. Nico  thought it was fun to look down and see only people’s heads once every while. And if they wanted something, they could just tug Hades towards their desired destination (Nico always messed up his well-combed hair). 

At that point, Hades couldn’t stop holding them close even if he’d wanted to, and Poseidon wouldn’t be the only reason. It was because Bianca would clutch at his hands, either pulling so hard it nearly made him trip when she wanted something or hiding behind his coat whenever the streets were too packed. It was because Nico would raise his arms and claw his way up his leg to be put on his shoulders, tiny hands hugging his head and messing up the hair.

And it was okay. He loved it.

Love how Nico after being trapped in the jar for days decided to not stay on a closed place like a room, but decided to always stay in a place on the ship where it was clear he was in an open place, and the Seven looked to this situation and decided it meant Nico was creepy.

it's actually sooooooo important that in ToA Nico is shown to be touch-averse and that he and Will date for months before having their first kiss. there's this guideline I've seen before that's like "if you have to show the characters doing something explicitly romantic or sexual to know they love each other, your romance is weak." having Nico and Will barely touch each other forces the reader to see the other ways their love is demonstrated: they confide in each other, they spend a lot of time together, they banter, they basically follow each other around and help each other with everything (Nico helping Will with medic stuff, Will helping Nico with trog stuff despite his dread of it). If they had already been physically and verbally affectionate when we first met them as a couple, it would've felt rushed and forced. Their care for each other being repeatedly demonstrated through action long before they get to, like, "normal" levels of touch and affection is what makes them a strong and believable literary romance.

one thing ive always wondered in magnus chase is why natalie cut off contact with both of her brothers, when randolph was the one doing all the bullshit. Ive concluded that she caught wind of frederick's treatment towards annabeth (magnus mentions annabeth telling him she was going to run away) and decided screw him also (reasonable)

Now this leads me to: alternate universe where instead of just running away annabeth stays in boston with natalie and magnus.

The fact that Annabeth is canonically a Norse legacy through a Swedish royal line on her dad's side is such an underrated and underutilized fact in this fandom. Like let's give her a couple subtle powers from her Norse ancestry in addition to the ones she has from her Greek side, or even just use this fact to explain (at least in part) why she's more powerful than her siblings. Or theres all sorts of royalty AUs, but I've only seen one that acknowledges such, and tecnically a fic where Annabeth is a princess wouldn't even necessarily need to be an AU since there's no specification of how direct her ancestry is; like someone could write a 100% canon compliant fic where someone decides to kill a bunch of nobles and royalty, and all the sudden Annabeth is close enough in line for it to be relevant (and given that Clarisse already teasingly calls her 'princess', no one at camp would EVER let her live it down)

Grover Underwood should have been on the Argo II instead of Coach Hedge. I don't give a fuck about Coach Hedge. But imagine how much depth it would add to the Tartarus storyline if Grover was still on the Argo II with the rest of the crew while Percy and Annabeth were stuck? Imagine if their empathy link was still intact and Grover could roughly follow along with what's happening, feel what Percy is feeling but not necessarily understand the context? Grover becoming more and more haunted the longer the story continues? Plus it would give us more Grover

i love Percy so much but him telling the rest of the Argo II crew basic fucking horror stories about Nico was really fucked up, especially since the stories were so bad that they shaped Jason’s whole view of Nico as a person and made everyone scared of him.
