I won't be here next week for #shinealightonslaveryday so I'm going to post this now. We must never forget that there are people around the world who do not have the basic freedom that we do. There are people stuck in a life of slavery. Yeah, slavery still exists. This week, as I get ready to ship out, I am going to attempt to highlight different friends of mine and what they mean to me (if I leave you out, it's not because you don't matter or aren't important to me... rather, it's probably because I don't have a picture with you). So, I'm going to start with this silly dude. This is Steven and we both started working at Fred Meyer the same week last year. Over the course of my three month stint, we closed the deli countless nights and had an abundance of fun singing Disney songs. He is also a comic book kinda nerd which allowed for more than a few conversations as we slaved away into overtime on the many nights we were short-staffed. Steven, I am glad to know you. Don't be a stranger. #friends

Today marks the twenty-third year in the life of a great man, a man I am honored to call one of my best friends. I've only known you for five years, but it feels like we've been friends since childhood. I have been blessed to see you grow in ways that I never even could have pictures in my wildest dreams... but isn't that how God works? He does the seemingly impossible. Because that's who He is.
