Hey y’all
So I know i haven’t been active for a while but I wanted to say something in the midst of all of this Corona panic. Stay healthy. Wash your hands, distance yourself from others and drink enough water. I know you’ve heard this a billion times, but even if you’re healthy and aren’t going to be impacted by the virus, you can still carry it and give it to someone who is more vulberable. I also wanted to say that social distancing can be really detrimental to your mental health. So I wanted to give some tips.
1.) don’t get absorbed in the panic. I know it’s terrifying, but there’s nothing you can do to make it any better other than social distancing and making sure you are safe.
2.) get it contact with your friends and family. With school and work cancelled for a lot of people, it can be really isolating to stay at home all day by yourself (or with the same few people). Write letters, facetime, text, call, whatever you want
3.) get really interested in something. Learn to bake something really difficult like croissants or perfect your recipes (chocolate chip cookies are a good option). Start a new book series. Practice drawing, painting etc. Try to pick something that gets you away from screens cuz a lot of you will most likely be spending plenty of time on computers for school.
4.) Get up and get ready. Open your blinds, wash your face, brush your teeth, get dressed, do your hair and makeup. Staying in bed isn’t going to make you feel any better
5.) move your body. Do yoga, watch a YouTube exercise video, go for a walk or bike ride. Being locked in your house makes it difficult to move around a lot, but do what you can.
I know this isn’t going to work for everyone, but please please please don’t let your mental health decline because of self isolation. Love you all lots and feel free to message me if you need help with anything or want someone to talk to.
