BT Fairytale AU where born sorcerer Tommy was so frightened of his heart breaking that he cut it out and hid it deep within an ancient forest

And rumors grow of a precious treasure within the Curséd Forest (note the little hat on the e, it's extra cursed) that grants the finders their heart's desire

Except people go missing when they enter the Curséd Forest. It is Curséd after all.

And Evan the young, unloved prince who wants nothing more than to be loved, hearing about this treasure, and decides to prove his worth to his parents by locating it to give them their heart's desire — to have Daniel back as the heir to the throne

Since we're talking fairytales, we're getting magical talking animals and wise mentors and saucy companions, and Tommy who has disguised himself "helps" him but really tries to stop the prince over and over. He even turns Evan into a buck deer. Unfortunately his magical obstacles are nothing against Evan's sincere heart and sheer bullheadedness

and at the end of it Evan unearths the chest and opens it and there is a jeweled heart within, beating steadily, and when Evan picks it up, it beats faster. Tommy clutches his chest and gets ready to die

But Evan turns around and puts the jeweled heart into Tommy and looks into his eyes, unafraid and knowing

"You are the sorcerer of the crystal heart," Prince Evan says, and kisses Tommy. Tommy tries to ask about Evan's parents and their wish, but Evan just snorts. "If they truly desired it, they should have tried to search for your heart themselves"

Tommy holds Evan and asks, "what is your heart's desire?"

And Evan says, "to be loved fully and completely as I am, not as what someone else wants me to be"

And his wish is granted

Do you gave a fall back fandom? Like if the fandom you are in at the moment starts slowing down, you have already read all the fics twice or you just start losing interest. But you don't have a new fandom yet, which fandom is the one you always fall back on? Mine is buffy, Xander paired with pretty much anybody male works for me. There are Xander fics that I have read 10x times over 15x years.

Firehaven

After crashing his bike Evan managed to persuade Maddie to leave with him.

Only It wasn’t Maddie who showed up when they were supposed to meet. Instead, Doug was there. And Evan got to spend over five years in hell after the alpha werewolf bit him and made Evan his beta as a way to strengthen his control over Maddie.

But Maddie finally got them out of there and she found them sanctuary in the small town of Firehaven.

Why is it so extremly boring to reread a fic you have written to check for spelling and grammar errors, but I can reread the same fic over and over again after I have posted it just to see if I still like it?

It was supposed to be a teeny tiny little fic about Maddie and Buck running from Doug.

Now Im 15000 words in and there are werewolves, hurt Buck, tragic Bobby backstory, bucktommy soulmates and Bobby/Buck father-son vibes all over the place.

I'm thinking I might have to end this, post what I have and just start planning for a sequel because this is stressig me out and I'm worried I will just abandon it if I don't give myself a break. Which I really don't want to do because I really like what I've written so far.

I'm curious, I feel like most of the people on the bucktommy side are 30+ and most on the buddie side are 30-. Since I have blocked so man buddies and most of those tags, including the buddietommy ones I can't really ask any buddies, only fellow bucktommys.

I got tagged by @the-flaming-nightmare to do a fic idea/WIP dump

Rules: Basically just dump and list your WIPs and/or fanfic ideas.

I'm only really woking on one fic right now. It will be either pre-bucktommy or bucktommy, I haven't really decided yet.

Anyway, Doug was an alpha werewolf and when Buck tried to make Maddie leave with him Doug found out and bit Buck. So for years Doug used Buck to control Maddie before they manage to escape and find their way to the firefam. Buck gets to learn what it means to be a werewolf, finds a new family and slowly goes crazy from a smell he keeps catching. And then Doug, again.

Working on a new fic, it was supposed to be 1000 words long but it keeps growing I have lost sight of the end and don't know how to finish it any more. 😣

Maddie tried to run away with Buck but it ended up with both of them under Doug's power instead. I have gotten them away from him an into safety and I I know 90% of what more I want to write but the ending is just a big blank.

IKEA Encounter

Tommy and Buck take a trip to IKEA to start preparing for their baby’s future arrival. Thanks to Buck and his trusty clipboard they are extremely prepared for the whole shopping trip. Except for running into Abby and her family in the IKEA restaurant.

I constantly feel like Im missing something when is see proof about how the buddies behave, real people don't act like this, surely? Why would you even click on, much less comment on a fic clearly tagged Eddie Diaz bashing, abusive Eddie Diaz and domestic abuse, if you are pro-Eddie and dislike bucktommy? Why give the fic the hit and the comment? I don't get it at all.

Tommy and Buck have been talking since the funeral but have been trying to take it really slow this time. That's why there wont be a reunion between them, we have already seen it. No one else in the 118 know they have been seeing each other again because Buck doesnt want to make it all about him again.

Im just gonna be a 🤡 here for a moment and say Buck’s respons to Harry after the whole vein popping comment seemed a lot like it was something he could and should have said to a certain pilot in season 8.

I (38M) am a single father and a firefighter, I work at the same fire station as my best friend, Buck (34M). We have been partners at work for years and he's the co-parent to my son, "C" (14M). We've always had each other's backs.

Buck recently got back together with his boyfriend, Tommy (41M), after they had been broken up for several months. Tommy used to be a pretty cool guy, before Buck and he got together Tommy an I were really tight and used to hang out a lot together while Buck stayed with C.

i think this whole thing with richard siken right now is proof that queer youth are so far removed from the aids epidemic and the consequences it had on queer elders. for them aids isn’t a lived experience, it’s not something they went through, the perception of it now comes from media and it’s seen as this navigable, preventable, even curable thing instead of a systemic attack on queer men that wiped out hundreds of thousands.

our queer elders are so low in number because in the mid-90s 1 in 15 queer men had died in the epidemic. doctors refused to touch them. men were dying in secret and begging their friends to break into their houses and erase the evidence that they were gay so their families didn’t know. they were dying alone.

richard siken lived and lost through this and poured everything he went through, his pain, his loss, his ability to love, into his poetry and to see people making a mockery of it now, to see people— queer people, at that— trying to ridicule him for being bothered that his work is being decontextualised to apply to a ship is so, so disheartening.
