(ā¦) āThe two-time Olympic champion didnāt blame the new figure skating rule that shortened the long program by 30 seconds for his second-place finish in the menās free skate, where he skated to āOriginā and fell face-forward on a quad salchow attempt.
āAs far as my points go, itās disappointing. I feel like I couldāve been better in many areas,ā said Hanyu, whose total score was 263.65 ā compared to his personal best 330.43.
āIt wasnāt the four minutes (compared to four and a half minutes last season) that made it tough. I just felt like I lacked the skills. I have to build a body that can withstand the composition of the program,ā he said.
