Lifetime Wish: Living in the Lap of Luxury Hello and welcome to my simblr. This is where I'll post my CC, legacy updates, sims I've made, and any other random screencaps of my game. My origin ID is alyssarcastic but I track the hashtag #simssalabim if you want to show me how you've used my CC. PSA: I get bored very easily, so my updates will be pretty random and there might be gaps in my families' timelines where I didn't take any pictures.
Sorry that I haven't been on in a while! I got a promotion at work, so I'm now working full time and I don't have much time for playing Sims or modding.
But I want to say thank you to everyone who has been sharing my content, clicking my adfly links, and following me while I was away. Stay tuned for a 400+ followers gift :) Hopefully I don't end up breaking 500 before it comes out, haha
Hi! I used your tattoo tutorial on a color tattoo, but the colors are too bright in CAS. It looks just fine it Sims 4 Studio.. Any help/idea? :)
I think something weird happens in the game with colored tattoos, because that's happened with mine too. If you darken the tattoo in Photoshop (or Gimp or whatever) then the colors should turn up normal in-game.
I cant get the sims 4 body textures to work? When I click the link, they go right to the raw page. no "raw image" to click. and they don't fit.. Could you upload them again? :)
You can just use this link instead, and I updated the tutorial. It's just easier than trying to upload them to an image site :P
This is the newest version of my tutorial, completely redone from scratch using Sims 4 Studio.
You will need the following:
Sims 4 Studio
A photoediting program (I'm using Photoshop)
A .dds plugin for your photoediting program - you can download the one for Photoshop here and the one for gimp here
Body textures for Sims 4
Whatever image you want to use to make a tattoo.
1. Open Sims 4 Studio. Put in your creator name, check the box "make standalone", and click the "create recolor" button.
This will allow you to make a new tattoo that won't replace an existing one. If you want to make a default replacement tattoo, then check "make replacement" instead.
2. Type "tattoo" into the search box and choose the tattoo you want to use as your base. It doesn't really matter which one you pick, but just keep in mind that sims won't be able to wear the tattoo you use and the one you make at the same time, so it makes the most sense to try picking one in the same general area as the one you want to create.
3. When you click next, a box will pop up for you to save your new .package file. Save it as whatever you want, and you can go back and rename it later if you want.
4. On the next screen, you'll see a 3D preview of the tattoo. Click the "export texture" button and save the file as whatever you want. It'll be a .dds file. DO NOT CLOSE SIMS 4 STUDIO YET.
5. Now go into your photoediting program and open the .dds file you just saved. If you're using Photoshop like me, a box like the one below will pop up. Just hit ok.
6. You'll see something like the image below.
First you want to color the entire image black.
7. Open the body texture that you saved at the beginning of this tutorial and drag it onto your tattoo image. I'm using the female one because I happen to be making a female tattoo. It should fit perfectly.
8. Now make a new layer and put your tattoo image on that layer. Resize it, reposition it, etc until it looks good to you.
9. Click the "lock transparent pixels" button. It's the grid of squares right next to the word "lock"
10. Use a large brush to color your entire tattoo design white. You don't have to worry about staying in the lines, because we locked the transparent pixels. That means that when you use the brush, it'll only color the pixels that already have a color.
11. Hide the body texture layer, then select all (ctrl+a), then go to edit > copy merged.
12. Hit undo (ctrl+alt+z) a couple times until your tattoo image isn't all white anymore. Do not forget to do this step, because otherwise your tattoo will be all messed up.
13. Click the channels tab (right above your layers) and click on the alpha 1 layer. You should see the white imprint of the original tattoo design.
Now hit paste (ctrl+v). Your screen should look something like mine below, with the white imprint of your own tattoo instead.
So on the RGB channel your tattoo should be the normal colors, and then the alpha channel should have a white imprint of your tattoo (in the exact same spot). On mine, you can't see anything on the RGB channel because the background is black and my tattoo design is also black.
14. Now save your file. Be sure to choose to save it as a .dds, and when you hit save this second box will pop up. Your settings should match mine below (make sure you're saving it as DXT5 interpolated alpha)
15. Go back to Sims 4 Studio and click "import texture"
16. Choose the .dds file you just saved and wait for the 3D preview to update.
If it looks good, hit save and your .package file will automatically save as whatever you named it in the beginning. If it doesn't look good, go back to your photoediting program and tweak it. You'll basically have to repeat steps 8-15 until you like the look.
17. Now that your .package file is saved, put it in the folder: C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods to see it in your game
Good luck! Feel free to message me with any questions, and tag me if you use this tutorial so I can see what you make! :)
Today I decided to add an optional adfly link to all my CC posts. For all my past and future creations, you will now see 2 links on the post: the regular dropbox link and also an adfly link. I don't want to make anyone go to adfly, because that's super annoying, but if you feel like thanking me for my work or just being nice, then go ahead and click the adfly link!
Hey everyone, I know a lot of you have seen that post going around about The Sims 4 Forum stealing content. I found some of my own content on there as well, and I was pretty annoyed. They took my creation, re-uploaded it to their site, and are charging people to join and download? That’s messed…
That’s interesting. Maybe he’s changing his tune because when KiwiSims asked them to take down the content, the response was “It’s EA’s content :) do you work for EA?” SOURCE He also made it clear to those asking to take it down that it wasn’t a place to advertise for Tumblr. Like I said, that’s just interesting.
I know, I saw that which is why I was surprised when he sent me such a kind email. Maybe he just realized that it would be better to work with us than against us? Either way, I hope he'll show the same respect to anyone else who's unhappy with their content on his site.
Hey everyone, I know a lot of you have seen that post going around about The Sims 4 Forum stealing content. I found some of my own content on there as well, and I was pretty annoyed. They took my creation, re-uploaded it to their site, and are charging people to join and download? That's messed up.
But when I got in contact with the owner of the site, who had uploaded my creation, he was very nice and helpful. At my request he changed his own download link to redirect to my tumblr post instead, so anyone who sees my content and wants to download it will have to come to my blog, which is how it should be. He responded to me and fixed the situation very quickly, and he also said that if he had my permission to continue using my content he would always make sure to use an external link. This is a portion of the email response I received:
To be clear we are not charging anyone money for other people's creations outside this site. The ONLY content we have imposed fees on are the adult nude skins OUR own creators have made for our site and they are now setting the prices themselves.
All other content we have had been uploaded with good intentions and credit given to the real creators :) we don't and will never to pretend to take credit for other people's work! I just want to share it and us be a site where we can share creators work and connect simmers with creators.
If you don't feel the credit we've given is substantial enough let us know how we can improve that, hell if you want we can reassign that content to your account on sims4forum so you can have control in updated the descriptions linking to your blog etc!
So if you see any of your content re-uploaded to The Sims 4 Forum, my suggestion is to nicely ask for it to be removed, have the link changed, transfer the post to your account, etc. I'm satisfied with the outcome of our exchange and I just wanted to spread the word!
This is a tattoo set for your sims 4 couples. It includes 2 tattoos: a King of Hearts tattoo for the male right hand and a Queen of Hearts tattoo for the female left hand. I put them on opposite hands so that they can be seen together when your sims hold hands or do other romantic interactions (such as kiss hands and caress cheek). But to be honest, I think these tattoos will work best when we have a pose player for TS4.
