The entire plot of Ari Aster’s Midsommar is revealed in the movie’s first frame.
You can’t speak. You can’t move. But this opens you up to the influence. And it breaks down your defenses. Trust me. All right? You’re gonna love it.
—Midsommar (2019) dir. Ari Aster

“Lingus” by Snarky Puppy, from We Like It Here
Released 2014
This album has been my recent jam, especially for my morning runs. Snarky Puppy, a New-York based band comprising of around 40 members, is bursting with energy and talent. Listen to how tight they are - from the rhythm section to the brass players - as they tackle those complex, 1970s prog-rock-esque rhythms and runs. “Lingus” is my favorite track from this album, because there’s so much going on in this funk tune - like that great bass lick at 1:35. Unfortunately, I can’t upload the entire song, and I had to cut out the mind-blowing keyboard solo - so check out their performance of the entire song!
