“Hey, Tyki, do you need to get presents for anyone? We might as well get them now that we’re here.”

Tyki blinked before humming thoughtfully. “Hmm. Guess I could get something for Sheril. And Momo and Clark. Few cans of beer, maybe. Or tickets for a soccer match.” He rubbed at the back of his neck before cracking into a dirty grin. “Maybe I just get them porn and watch them squirm in embarrassment.” His eyes then widened, and he whipped his head into Lavi’s direction as fast as a lightning. “Do you want some porn for Christmas?”

It says eventual smut... but HOW eventual will it be? Can Tyki and Lavi manage to do anything remotely romantic together without being prestressed by Sheryl? Is it Lavi’s first time? Will he be awkward and nervous?

Things are slowly building into that direction. How soon exactly... you’ll have to find out. They are going to get together during this fic, but that won’t be all there is in the story. They’ll still have quite a few dilemmas left after they’ve gotten together, the difficult nature of their relationship being one of them--and Sheril will be just one branch of it. You’ll have to wait with Tyki to discover more about Lavi and what kind of love life he might have lead. He’s still quite young so the options are limited. However, he is pretty nervous by nature, especially when he can’t mask it behind jokes. You can expect that to come into play.

You’re not being a pain at all!

I’m currently in the middle of editing and adding to the chapter 5 while Kashyuri is working on the chapter 6 . It’ll take some time (it’s another long chapter), but you can rest assured that it’s being worked on. Awesome that you’re digging what we’ve gotten out so far, hope the wait will be worth what’s about to come. There’s going to be some character developement and a REVELATION.

Lavi didn’t understand. Tyki had done absolutely nothing, yet here he was, all fired up and ready to have another episode. It was unfair, for both of them.

Stupid Allen. Stupid Kanda. But no matter how much Lavi dissed his friends, he couldn’t shake off the feeling that they could be right.

There was nothing stopping Tyki from turning on him again.

Our beta does a magnificent job at picking and cleaning most of our mistakes. We all try to put close attention, but these mistakes sometimes slip. We both agreed that we should pay this fic closer attention in the future.

Thank you anon for sending us an ask! I hope you understand why we are not publishing it, but answering it in a form of a post.

Thank you for addressing the incest vs pseudo-incest tagging. We added the incest tag in. We originally picked pseudo-incest over incest because the questionable relationship in the story is between non-blood/barely bonded characters, and how those relationships are viewed varies from culture-to-culture. However, it is a form of incest aswell, and we want to tag it as appropriatedly as possible--so thank you for bringing it up.

You also addressed some issues in our writing in general (and praised some, thank you for that very much!). While we realize that might be the case, we do not undestand the scale unless you specify what those issues are. If you happen to see this post, we’d love it if you could explain them more properly so that we can learn and make our own conclusions.

“Will you ever quit it with the age jabs?” He sighed. His arms had crossed over his chest, hiding the glasses away from Lavi’s critical view. “I’m only 27, a man at his prime age!”

Luckily, Lavi seemed to be sticking to his first impression. “Do glasses give you extra points among the ladies? Or the gentlemen?” he questioned. His hand was taking support from the table as he relaxed against his arm, the other resting over his waist. Hint of amusement remained in his tone, but otherwise he sounded sincerely curious. Tyki’s arms relaxed, too, when he thought about his question.

“Can’t really say,” he soon answered. “I do not exactly read in that kind of company.” Had he actually put those words better, their strange after-school joking might have ended here and turned into a decent conversation.

Bridges Aren’t Built in a Day

Tyki let out a breath through his nose. This was ridiculous! He just needed to start the damn conversation!

Still, what could he say to get his nephew interested in talking to him? Ask about his eyepatch? No! He couldn’t ask about anything too personal since they weren’t quite there yet— if they would ever get there at all. Tyki weighed a few options in his mind, figuring that he should go with something simple for the start.

“So, what do you actually study?” he asked, the voice as casual as he could muster.

Lavi blinked, the action mirrored by his reflection in the window. He averted his gaze from the rain and focused it on Tyki, tilting his head slightly sideways. “I’m majoring in History, and I take lots of side courses, mostly in languages,” he said with a small, tight smile.

Prologue

Tyki peered down at the front garden, taking another long drag from his cigarette before grinning to himself. He was happy that he could be able to spend more time with his niece from now on; he had missed that little rascal more than he had thought.

The same couldn’t be said about his nephew.

Lavi was still nowhere to be seen. Sheril had said something about a long school day but insisted that the boy would make it to the party—a fact that Tyki felt rather indifferent about.
