Book (and music) budget

How much should we spend on books?  Music?  My immediate answer is “a little bit more.”  

My theory is that money spent on books and music is never wasted.

I don’t have a book budget (my wife does, but I don’t).  I think it would be impossible to estimate what I “need” to spend on books in advance of the actual purchase decision.

I don’t have a music budget either.  Just when I think I will have a dry spell, I stumble across an artist or have one recommended to me and off I go.

I do know this:  I have never regretted purchasing books or music.  Not at any point in in my life.
