“It’s gonna take forever if you keep power tripping,” Vox muttered. “This still isn’t how subbing is supposed to work.” “Whoever said I was— what, subbing? Substituting?” “No, submissive, fuck, you’re impossible.” “How can I be doing the verb of submissive?” “Pedantic prick,” Vox muttered. “Can I continue?” “How am I the submissive party in this scenario?” Alastor asked, head tilted to piss Vox off, but genuinely curious. “And no, not yet. Hands to yourself.” Vox blew out a frustrated breath, gills fluttering. “Well, you’re tied down, I’m electrocuting you to get you off, you’re about to bottom if you ever fucking let me—!” “I’m not interested in submitting to you,” Alastor said.

Alastor’s smile glowed a little brighter, a few scattered bars of jazz filtered through the room. “Cover our drinks this Friday,” he said. “I’ve grown accustomed to a certain standard of dance partner, you know.” Every muscle in Vox’s body relaxed as he grinned back at Alastor. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
