Loving my new hat!
Over the past few months I have been thinking about doing a vision board. Taking my overclustered mind and putting it on a board to keep in the back of my closet. I have heard this is not only good for goals, but to also clear your mind and move forward. I love this because lately my head has been stuck in my past. Past loves, past work experiences.... I am finding it harder and harder to move past things.
So, off to Michael's today to take advantage of tax-free days to get myself a nice board and some glue. this week's goal is printing, cutting and pasting. I will share my process and end result.
Time to move forward.
Lol! Tonight I put my best friend and her hubby in charge of my dating life. I cannot be trusted to make wise decisions. Any prospects please see Mark and Adele. Lol

Life is so short...
I have been so bad about getting this blog started. Life always gets in the way, but this week I was also reminded that life is also too short and to grab a hold of what you want and work through your fears.
A few years ago, a few months after my dad died, I met someone who fast became very special to me. He was a a wonderful person, but I got very scared by how I was feeling. My dad's death threw me for a loop. The fear of feeling a loss like this again paralyzed me. This man had an illness that terrified me. My feelings terrified me. I ran like hell. Never looking back. He was upset, needless to say, and fought hard for me to explain why I left like I did. Not proud of how I acted at all. Blaming my behavior on a hard time in my life now seems ridiculous.
The reason I bring him up is because his niece, who battled Cystic Fibrosis, passed away last weekend at the age of 19. Now I never met her, but knew how special she was to him. I saw that she died and cried and immediately reached out to him. I was feeling pain as a mom and a friend, how unfair that this wonderful child was taken.
I messaged with him a few times this week and he has been in my thoughts a lot these last days. I found out he is with someone now, and as happy as I am for him, he deserves happiness, I cannot shake the regret I have. I hope she is a lot smarter than I am and I hope she treats him the way he deserves.
Point is, life is short. Be happy. Never settle. Face your fears head on with trust and honesty.
Song in my head is "Where I Stood" by Missy Higgins. Check it out.

Welcome to my bitching blog!
Hello! I am a 45 year old single mom. I am starting this blog because I feel there is so much others in my position can relate to. I plan on speaking honestly about dating, parenting, finances, work, health, and beauty. I cuss a lot. I bitch even more, so I am not for those easily offended. I am the person you never want on speaker when there are children present.
My background:
I am from the Cleveland, Ohio area. I live in the city I grew up. My daughter, Fi who is almost 9, goes to the same school I went to. My mom and I live 10 minutes away from one another, she is my main support system.
I just turned 45 two weeks ago. 45 has always been my scary age, I am starting this blog as therapy to cope with this. Maybe by the time I turn 50, I will be over this birthday.
I am a full time mom. My ex-husband has exercised his right to only visit my child one hour a week. Been like this for 6 years. He wanted freedom, I got something better, my daughter full time. It is hard, but in the end, it is what is best for her. Forcing someone to be a parent when they do not want to be is even more harmful to the child or children.
I struggle financially. Family circumstances and health have put me in a place I am in now. I will get into that more later.
I am a hopeless romantic in a world of men at menopausal age. No kidding. Dating men over 40 is awful. Yes we go through major hormonal changes, but so do men. The difference, they do not admit it, and we all know how men get when they are not feeling themselves. Starting tonight I am going to be starting a blog over the next week about my 6 years of single mom, over 40 dating. Good stuff, let me tell you!
I hope a lot of you can relate to my topics and you find humor in all of it. Please no bashing. I will delete nasty comments, you do not like my topics, then do not follow my blog. Simple. It is all about respecting my blog and people who comment on it.
Later, dolls!
Mich
