One of my favorite parts about Mysterio is that he LOVES being so extra and enjoys the mysterious, scary, magical persona he built for the world to see. He loves the attention and respect it gives him. So when MCU Quentin shows annoyance at his own “silly costume” and has a whole team doing all of the character work for him it feels so… not Mysterio. He still wants to garner respect, so that aspect feels somewhat correct, but he’s doing it without that personal touch Quentin typically gives

Anyways, my conclusion is that not making Quentin a dramatic theater guy feels equivalent to not making Otto a scientist
