While I can agree there should be less episodes where he emerges victorious, I don’t believe killing off Cartman would be a good idea. Cartman, love him or hate him, is one of the most developed characters and his sociopathy is often meant to be played comedically (there are exceptions.) Though I will agree the joke sometimes fails (i.e. Ginger Cow.) Kyle and Cartman’s conflict is one of the driving forces in the show and its storytelling, all Ky///man shippers aside.
I can’t really get behind the whole “Give other characters a chance!” because who really gives a shit about Annie or Lola or whomever. Cartman is the type of character who can interact with anyone and automatically make them interesting. Prior to season 20, the only truly developed female characters in the show were Wendy, Bebe, and maybe Nichole. I didn’t really think or care that much about Heidi, and I seriously doubt most people did either. Her relationship with Cartman gained her more prominence and gave her more character. While she may not be as developed as Cartman, she still has more of a personality than the majority of the female students. So, honestly I don’t really care if I see the main five, their families, Timmy, or Craig’s gang (and then some) over and over as long as Matt and Trey know what to do with them.
