“Fine. You do realize Shock will be pissed, right?”
“Who?”
{vidia}
“I don’t love.”
“Then do it because you hate me and I rarely ask you for favors.”
{vidia}
“I was just fucking with you.” She almost bursts out laughing, but decides to keep her composure. “Pretend to be your date? And why would I do that?”
“Because you love me.”
{vidia}
“You can, but it will cost you your soul.”
“It’s a shame I don’t have one,” he responded without so much as a thought to what he would say. “Will you pretend to be my date tomorrow night at some stupid party?”
{vidia}
“I think that’s absurd. Like you when you quote characters like Darth Vader.”
“Yeah, whatever,” he said waving his hand at her. “Can I ask you something?”
{vidia}
“Do I now?”
“Yes.”
{shock}
She was agitated, no surprise there. She moved the chair back in front of the computer and fixed her attention on the screen. “Right. You can go now, that’s all I needed.”
“A thank you would be nice,” he said as he got up to leave.
{lewis}
“Not! the question. I will tell you the story of Foo Foo.
Little bunny Foo Foo was hopping through the forest
Scoopin’ up the field mice and boppin’ ‘em on the head!
Good fairy came along and said: “Little Bunny Foo Foo!
I don’t like your attitude! Scoopin’ up the field mice and boppin’ ‘em on the head! I’ll give you one more chance and if I catch you again I’ll turn you into a goon!”
Do you know what happens next?”
“No. I don’t want to. Leave me alone.”
{shock}
With her jaw locked into place she looked back at him and raised an eyebrow. “I know a lot more than you do, no matter my age. Keep talking like that and I’ll give you another bloody nose.” The girl went to a monitor and sat down, typing for a few seconds before scooting back. “It needs a key word that’s somewhere inside all of this coding.”
Draco ignored her comment and sat beside her before scanning through the code. He typed a few things in quickly before pressing the enter key, revealing a new screen with code reading a hundred words a second and a moment later another screen popped up. “There you go. Don’t say I never did anything for you.”
{lewis}
“Where you ever told the story of Little Bunny Foo Foo?”
“Are you on drugs?”
{shock}
“My dad doesn’t have friends, he’s not a very social person.” She went down a small corridor then into a tiny room with a few computers. It was where she usually sat to hack the systems for her father. “You talk a lot of game for a college frat boy. Why don’t you go then?”
“There’s a lot more to it.” Draco let out a humorless, bitter laugh. “You wouldn’t understand. You’re too young anyway. So, what computer am I looking at here?”
{shock}
“Your mom sounds a lot like my dad.” Something along the lines of a laugh trickled from her lips as she walked through the hallways of the school. “Doubt it. I don’t plan on going to college.”
“I wouldn’t doubt if they were friends. She has a lot of those. More like business partners though.” Draco glanced around the foreign hallways of her school. “Don’t go. It’s a waste of time and energy. Do something worthwhile. Go to Spain or Austria. Visit Easter Island. Rob a bank. Change your name. Do something you want.”
{shock}
“I think frats are stupid.” She looked to him before opening the door to the school. “I come when my dad does, plus I need to finish programming some stuff.”
“Yeah, they kind of are.” Draco shrugged. “My mom made me join one. She thought it would be a “beneficial experience for me to grow and expand my horizons. And maybe you can actually make some friends and not be a complete disappointment.” Her words. Not mine.” He quickly changed the subject back to her. “Think you’ll go to school for computer programming then? I hear it’s good money.”
{shock}
The girl started to walk, keeping her hands dug into the pockets of her sweater. Even though it was getting warmer she didn’t stop wearing her long sleeves. She was always cold, whether the temperature was or not. “Why’re you out here so early anyway? I figured you weren’t a morning person.”
“Why do you assume I’ve slept yet? I’m a college frat boy. Do we ever really sleep?” Draco followed her in silence for a few moments. “Why are you? Classes don’t start for another two hours yet.”
{shock}
“I’ve been trying to get into this server and I’m having trouble figuring out this key code, maybe a fresh set of eyes can figure it out. Think you can handle it?”
“Yeah. Lead the way.”
{shock}
Shock let a small smile crease her lips as she looked to the boy. “Yeah, maybe.” She started to walk by him when she stopped, instead turning her head over her shoulder to the boy behind her. “You want to help me with something?”
Draco rose an eyebrow. “Yeah..sure. What do you need?”
{shock}
“Draco… I’ve said it once and I’ve said it again… I don’t date.”
“Yeah, parties aren’t really my scene anyway. Maybe we can go graffiti Frollo’s mother’s tombstone in a cemetery sometime. Not like today or tomorrow but...sometime. When you’re free and all.”
