I've never really understood why people say AFTG isn't well written, especially people who actively like the series. I've read badly written books, I literally just finished one, and AFTG isn't one of them. I don't believe a book can't be badly written and still capture its audience the way AFTG has captured so many of us.
What I will say is that outside of Tumblr it's not popular. AFTG has around 50,000 reviews on goodreads and stands around 4 stars. Making it higly rated, but not highly read. The book I just finished has around 400,000 reviews and many of them are 1 star because many readers couldn't even bring themselves to finish the book. And guess what it has a tv adaption.
AFTG is also odd in the sense that it doesn't fit into any of these niche little tropes that so many books fall into. (Personally I think those are reasons I love it, but can also understand why a fake sport and the japanese mafia dont reach a broader reader base.) It has a darker tone without it being an outright horror or suspense, and Nora really did an impecable job with it.
And of course there are other well written books out there, and books that are much better written than AFTG, but that doesn't make it badly written. It not being your cup of tea doesn't make it badly written either.
I guess my point is that I've read bad books. Books I've finished, books I've forced myself to finish, and books I couldn't force myself to finish. And in my mind there is no comparison with AFTG. Its captivating.
I will never be over Feralsong, Carter and Gavin own my ass
dean was amazed to discover that when he was saying “i’ll go with you,” what he meant was, “I love you.”
Happiness isn’t in the having. It’s in just being. It’s in just saying it.
2020 is a year
obama was the homestuck president but whoever wins tonight is the destiel president
i don’t like this timeline.
CNN referred to Native Americans as “something else” on their voter demographic poll last night. The poll on the screen read like this:
White
Black
Latino
Something else
Asian
We weren’t declared as citizens of our own stolen land until 1924. We didn’t get the right to vote (in all states) until the early 1960’s.
And yet non-natives can’t even refer us as Indigenous people when we’re a part of the electoral process.
Y’all wanna know why Arizona flipped blue?
The Navajo and Pima/O’Odham (one of my tribes!!!) communities have been crucial in flipping this state. the Native vote in Arizona was MASSIVE - no doubt to the impact Covid has had on our communities there. I’m going to look at other blue-flipped states but what I’m seeing so far is that Natives have been critical for the Democratic vote regardless of voter suppression tactics designed to keep Natives away from the polls.
I also noticed that CNN started running ads raising awareness for Covid impact on Navajo territories and my thoughts are: 1) it doesn’t fic the mistake you made by calling us “something else” 2) the Navajo/Diné are not the only natives on that territory and the other tribes (including mine) deserve to be officially recognized.
I love you.

i love this destiel news i have zero investment in supernatural but you dont have big fandoms like this anymore. literally everyone on social media knows what youre talking about when you talk about it. this is the first time in so long ive seen the entire internet collectively lose its gourd over something that wasnt horrific tragedy and existentially horrific news. feels really good.
for everyone who left and just came back, who has never seen the show, who is just now deciding to add their two cents in because yes, as it stands right now it is egregious and they buried their gays and how could anyone ever be happy with that -
understand that we’ve been called crazy for going on 13 years. understand that this moment? this was a lesson about happiness some adults i know still haven’t learned. understand that they played a 12 year long game, and the entire gag of this season has been misdirection, especially through the use of old, tired narrative devices.
just wait. castiel will make it out alive.
if he doesn’t, i will raise my pitchfork with you. but right now? i’m celebrating.
renee! also i’m not sure how exy golie attires work but i hope they are as bulky and ridiculous as the field hockey ones lol

The next thing 2020 will reveal is that personified countries actually exist
All credit to Mr. Bill Watterson, for creating a child and his imaginary friend well ahead of their time. (Also, a keen interest in words at a young age is a healthy thing.)
