The shitshow at the fuck factory parallels. Roman's denial and refusal to acknowledge that his dad might be dead. Kendall's coping by throwing around his authority and trying to summon "better doctors" like that will solve the problem. Shiv getting mad at the people focusing on the business end, then trying to game the system and hide Logan's status. Kendall being the sibling that knows they have to focus on the business end. Connor marrying Willa like him calling her to the hospital to the disgust of the family. The close associate (Frank and now Gerri) fired but only in words for the sake of Roman. The attack up in the private jet just like up in the helicopter.

All this time later and they're still the exact same fucking family they've always been.

I think one big criticism I have about Succession is that so many side plots were dropped or discarded. As a consequence, a lot of side characters were wasted. S3 is the most glaring example of this, especially if they really were planning to end the show in s4. It introduced new characters that we never see again and took away time from existing ones. I always get angry when I see Comfry, not only because the actress sucks as a person but also because that whole role could have been given to Jess. It would make her quitting in s4 even more impactful. And while I like Kerry...is she really necessary. Does she add anything that we didn't know before about Logan and his relationship with women? Marcia already had a cheating plot point with Logan, and she's hardly in s3 and 4 for it to really matter.

I also get the feeling that a good chunk of the POC actors/ characters get the short end of the stick. Like Juliana wouldn't be in the show as much( and that's not a lot) without Jeremy Stong saying that she should be in certain scenes. It seems like a lot of Stewy scenes are cut. Lisa was absolutely wasted. Marcia was also wasted. Almost all of her weight and presence is sucked dry by s4. Lawrence's role was absolutely downgraded, and it's super obvious. Sophie has a decent plot point in s4, and while it's somewhat impactful, it just doesn't hit as hard because we never see her. We get to hear from white characters how Sophie is impacted by Mencken, but not from her. She has one scene and no dialogue, and I know why that is. The kids are such an afterthought that they are not even recast. Which also dampens the neglectful dad narrative for Kendall. Because in the back of my mind, I know that these kids are teenagers when only one year has passed in the show. Iverson was in elementary school, and I think Sophie was too. So, no shit theyre not showing them. It's hard to take it seriously. I'm not saying that it's just POC characters that get neglected, but I do see a pattern. It just all rubs me the wrong way.
