I know it feels like all our hopes, all our faith and all our love for this show has imploded before our eyes right now.

I'm not here to try and fix that or to try and make it worse, but there is still a decent chance that too many people were onto Byler and the Duffers just wanted to stretch it out until that very last episode.

However there's an equally decent chance that that is not gonna happen and we just witnessed the biggest queerbait in modern history..

But I'm still so grateful for what this ship, and especially this fandom has meant to me these past few years! For me, Mike and Will still have the right to have a happy ending and nobody, not even 2 ugly ass str*t white men, is going to take that away from me.

God gave his thoughest battles to his strongest soldiers, or whatever.

Keep your heads up, I believe in you, in us, in this fandom and the faith we have in a chance at real, genuine love and queer joy; don't let this ruin that for you.

That scene from the epilogue where Karen calls Joyce looking for Mike, and Will's like *shrug* nah haven't seen him, and Joyce is like no, he definitely wasn't here overnight, and then from outside the cabin you hear a whole racket and Mike yelling fuck cuz he just climbed out Will's window to sneak away a la Jancy s3 and ran straight into all those tin can tripwires Hopper set up five years ago. Will tries not to react to that audibly happening. Joyce repeats down the phone that she has no clue where Mike is.

I just realized that the upside down was SUPPOSED to be destroyed to the band The Butthole Surfers but Mike was basically FORCED to choose a different record.

Mike was forced to choose a different ending.

“I built the bomb I should be able to pick the record” his character basically decides how this whole world/story should come to an end but… his original idea for how it ended got switched.

It’s still an ending Mike chose, but not the original ending.

Hey so this whole album Mike originally chose is actually insane

The song El would have died to (had she still wind up dying) would have either been “Human Cannonball” (Side A) or “22 Going on 23” (Side B)

Considering the song that was originally playing during the demonstration being “Human Cannonball” it was probably that.

This is what Human Cannonball is about. side A. Track 5. This is the song that would have played as el and mike had their conversation had it been the album Mike ORIGINALLY PICKED

It’s a mutually abusive relationship. El and Mike would have talked about how toxic their relationship has become…

Some Lyrics:

These lyrics also show how great El’s self sacrifice was/is. Not only how much she sacrificed for their relationship but how much she sacrifices for everyone else. How she is still “like a weapon” in “sacrificing” her self for the greater good. Like a “lowly animal” how she turns out. But it’s not really sacrificing is it? She is just in pain. In a toxic relationship with basically the whole world (which in the end makes her this weapon in a way)

And yes this song is by far the most normal. All the other songs are so incredibly insane I am viciously worried for Mike Wheelers mental health.

What the band said (iffy I know):

This could be showing that their time and perception of time and perception of themselves is warped in the context of stranger things.. but there’s more. Let’s look at the lyrics.

The lyrics:

This and what the band said are basically implying that what El and Will and everyone else went through is seen as ridiculous. It is unbelievable that they are only 16 years having gone through this. And they try to hide how much it affects them. Again and again like a loop.

Their is the opposite/reverse song, Hay (shout out to the WSQK that always reversed shi):

Also, this brings up a point. Again. It is like El is getting treated like an animal going to the slaughter.

It should also be mentioned that the song Mike DID wind up choosing for the end of it all, Purple Rain, Side A, ALSO HAD a secret hidden message in the song at the end of you play it in reverse. “Hello. How are you? I’m fine cause I know that the lord is coming soon.”

Also worth to mention that the song itself is basically Mike’s apology to El. It expresses guilt and remorse, but in the end there is still love. Not going too deep into this song since this post is mainly about what Mike would have ORIGINALLY picked. But encourage you all to do so.
