DNAing, or scamming!

-DNA: Did not arrive.

It’s really easy to DNA stuff online. Just email or live chat (i prefer livechat) the company and say that you never received the product, and that you were really excited to get it/disappointed it never came.

For Ämäzön, Wälmärt, Ültä, Tärgët, etc, it’s best to have an active account with actual purchases on there. Even after your scam, buy cheap things once in a while so you can scam again. I’ve done that with Tärgët & have scammed over $400 in items on the same account (with like 10 legitimate purchases).

TAGGING

I worked in retail, three clothing stores, and at each and every one, we were often asked to be on the floor and tag merchandise there while assisting the customers. At stores with pushy sales associates and not too large, not too many employees, we would also detag stuff ON THE FLOOR. I can’t tell you how many times I was told “tags in pockets? Double tagged? STOLEN. DON’T ASSUME OTHERWISE.” And yet, I would be working and drop one part of the tag (just one) on the floor and it would get lost. We’d sometimes find them and just throw them back in their bins for later tagging. My point is this: employees don’t drop sealed tags, ON THEIR OWN, on the fucking floor. We just don’t. Ever. But drop a piece to the tag? Yes. Sometimes, we do. If your store doesn’t have cameras or has inattentive sales associates, if you can do so on camera without being suspicious, walk around with the rest of your hangers like you’re still looking. Drop in two solitary areas away from sight one part vs two parts. If a sales associate sees a part of the tag missing, and can’t find the other part nearby, they’ll assume it was THEIR fault. I dropped this piece while tagging on the floor! I dropped it while bringing the bins of sensors and tags *the part that goes off, and separately the part that locks it to the clothing, kept together* while bringing it to the back, OR TRAVELING AROUND THE STORE WITH IT AND EYEING CUSTOMERS. At every store I worked at, even fucking Lacoste, that merchandise as well as the detagger were kept duplicates of on the floor for “tasks.” If you double tag an item, they’ll go check their cameras. They’ll know someone stole. If they see a closed tag on the floor, someone stole. A sales associate would never do that. If they find both parts to a tag in a pocket, someone stole. They know that. They will EVALUATE WHO IT WAS. If I saw one part on the floor, many times it happened, “Oh, silly us. Dropped it while tasking.” At the very least, there is less conclusion than those items thrown TOGETHER. Get rid of tags in the most subtle and accidental way possible. Please don’t double tag or put tags in pockets. Sales associates will notice. Either way, you take a risk. Not sure if this helps anyone, but this is how it was for me. I once found a piece and told my manager one of us might have dropped it, and she just said “happens all the time. Put it back in the bin.”

STORYTIME: my friend got caught in ULTA!

this is a quick little story but me and my friend were in an ULTA several hours away from where we live. we were with our moms so it was risky to lift anything and since neither of us are familiar with ULTA I decided not to lift anything, she just lifted a bottle of foundation. so she was really dumb and carried it around in the open for a WHILE and then went to the bathroom to conceal (again not familiar with the store so not comfortable concealing on the floor) so while she was in there I noticed an SA hanging outside the door and I texted her. why she didn’t decide to just put it back I’ll never know but she came out and they asked to see in her bag and I was shocked because they didn’t find anything. I assumed she left it in the stall but she had it the next day so I asked how she got out with it and UHM… long story short she put it up her vag and carried it out literally inside of her I’m so. 😂😂😂

Caught story from a friend:

A friend of mine through an old community was recently arrested at K0hls. She beeped, and LP confronted her and she was wearing heels and couldn’t run. She was approached based on the beep, but LP was very close to the door when it happened so make of that what you will. 

She had a ton of shit in her purse and in a shopping bag, including clothing, expensive headphones, jewelry, and more. She still has no clue why she beeped since she checked thoroughly for tags in a fitting room and used a magnet, but is reasonably sure it wasn’t via a magnet detector. We’re talking about a very very experienced lfter here who felt comfortable in this particular store. 

The police showed up very quickly, as in while they were leading her to a back room, and she was arrested. Literally they took her in a police car to the station, booked her, took a mugshot, put her in jail, the whole nine yards. She was not strip searched. She was over the felony limit for her state, plus they found her tools, and she admitted she had taken some things, but not everything they found, and denied it was premeditated. She now regrets saying anything at all, and wishes she’d asked for a lawyer. 

They took her purse and got a warrant for her phone. She had to give them her passcode. This is something I’d heard rumors about the police doing but this is the first person I know who that happened to. She was bailed out the same day by her husband, who did not know she lfts and is not happy right now, but they did not let her take her phone home. She knows she is in deep, deep shit as she was boosting shit over several different apps on her phone and had used the phone to text with partners, but not on the day she was caught or for some time prior. When her husband picked her up he was not questioned, but a cop mentioned to him that if he was involved he should confess because they have her phone and will find out who she was working with. 

They did not get a warrant for her home or car as far as she knows; her car was still in the K0hls parking lot when she got out that night, with lfted stuff from another store in the trunk. Her husband told her to pack a bag of anything that she had taken recently which he is hiding with a relative just in case. She has lfted from K0hls before and is now worried about them checking tapes and getting her on more. She may be facing jail time just on what she was charged with already, and charges may be added depending on what they find on her phone. She may have put people she cares about in harms way, including a member of her family, because they texted her about lfting. She has hired a lawyer, and it’s not cheap, and has had to seek medical attention for severe anxiety that has made her unable to eat without getting sick or sleep a full night. 

From what she told me, I have learned a few lessons:

1. Don’t wear heels if you can’t run in heels.

2. Tags may be hidden in very covert places. I wish I could tell you what got her caught, but she still doesn’t know and is very, very surprised it happened. Her only guess is a bottle of perfume that was somewhat pricey. She had removed a tag stuck to the bottom of the box but wonders if perhaps there was a second tag inside the box that she missed.

3. Know the law, and know how much trouble you’d be in if you got caught each time. If it’s serious, refuse to talk and demand to see a lawyer. The expense is worth it if you’re fucked either way. Also make sure you do not consent to any searches. 

4. Be very careful about what’s on your phone. This is something I’d heard about in the past but just to be safe I’ve cleaned out my conversations on a few texting apps and deleted some photos. I’ve always used codewords for most conversations and now those are the only ones that could be found. 

5. A lot of liftblr caught stories, as well as caught stories on other sites, seem to center around K0hls. I have never fucked with K0hls because honestly there wasn’t much at mine I particularly wanted. My friend was very, very comfortable with hers and is shocked this is the place she ended up getting caught. Don’t fall into the trap of “but mine is easy” when you’re talking about a chain that is known for having good LP. Yours may have been easy when you started, but they could easily have stepped up their game. Be very vigilant every single time and try to avoid the felony total in any one trip. This situation would be significantly less dire if she had taken two trips instead of taking so much in one. She is also wondering if perhaps they had suspected her of lfting there for some time but simply did not feel comfortable catching her until the beep gave them a reason to confront her. 

6. We have been communicating through a very secure app on her ipad that does not log conversations since this happened. I don’t want to reveal any more about it right now but suggest those of you who like to stay in touch do your research about what technology you decide to use and maybe don’t use your phone if you bring that with you when you lft. I have always been very secure about my communications except for those where I chose to use code words.

It felt incredibly good to go by my grandma’s house today before hauling and giving her a fancy make up bag filled with designer skin care and make up and bags of food.

My grandma used to save up to get Walmart moisturizer and now she’s using her brand of choice . She fucking loved it. Giving her nice name brand eyeshadow palletes and her Elizabeth arden and Clinique. If I could just lift perfume then she’d be set. And giving her pureology for her hair so she doesn’t have to use suave. Or fucking dish soap since they cut her social security again. And I caught her using dawn dish soap last month and cried and said never again. Never ever afuckingain. And she now has everything she’s ever drooled over from s@llys &ult@. She could open her own damn salon. And she’s started doing her hair again. I’m not going to go into personal details but my grandma has suffered 3 horrible deaths all in the last year and lives alone now.

So no, I don’t fucking feel bad for what I do. I don’t fucking care what you think. She’s at the end of her life and deserves the best stuff out there. And watching her excitedly change out of her dollar general sleep pants into Ugg pj’s was amazing. So fuck your hateful messages. Fuck your judgements. We don’t do this for fun. We understand the risks. And it’s scary af. But I was so proud to have my grandma call me and say she felt good enough to leave the house today with her new outfit on and her smashbox makeup and Tarte eyeshadow pallete. I’m happy that she made a nutritious lunch and got to eat legit oreos instead of store brand. So take your hate else where. I don’t have fuckin time for it. I understand money doesn’t buy happiness….which is why I fucking lift it instead. You think we’re all dumb teenagers who lift fancy make up etc for fun. Well fuck that. My blog is small and this will be the last time I address this issue because I want to spread love&tips to my gals&gents who have to lift. Most of us do it because we HAVE to. And the ones who do it just because, well that’s their business and I’m glad they found a way to get happiness. Even if it’s only temporary and fleeting. I love a buy one get one free deal. Buy an item then come back to the place with the bag, grab the exact item you bought from the rack/shelf and bring the receipt. Go to a couple of places repeating and letting the worker know that when you purchased it you got home and realized the tag wasn't removed. Don't return the item, tell them you didn't like the color or whatever and ask if you can just swap it for a different color. If they don't take your receipt rinse and repeat at a different location.
