My favorite thing about online queer discourse is that it literally repeats every year but with a different identity and so many people just go along with it. It’s like watching a series of people literally never learn their lesson.

Then pansexuals because people had the audacity to experience multi-attraction but not identify with your specific label

And then there was the ace discourse about how people who are ace/aro aren’t REALLY lgbt because?? Y’all said lack of attraction wasn’t a sexuality and clearly they were just?? Broken??? (Again, no irony in this. Telling people with sexualities you don’t understand that they’re broken has always been a net positive and worked out great for everybody in the end)

Oh and then y’all came for bi-lesbians because y’all forgot people can experience different romantic and sexual attraction

Then y’all started calling trans women pedophiles (AGAIN WITH NO IRONY, NOT LIKE THE COMMUNITY HAS A RAMPANT HISTORY OF QUEER PEOPLE BEING CALLED PEDOPHILES AS A FEAR MONGERING TACTIC)

And then y’all started insulting trans men for speaking out about possibly suffering from their own set of issues that comes with being trans men (god forbid people have their own set of issues they wanna address separately, everyone knows the queer experience is universal right?)

And literally every single time all I hear is:

Like maybe I’m crazy but perhaps the biggest threat to our community is not people making up labels or mixing labels or talking about their own personal forms of oppression they face - but maybe. Alright, I'll say it. The unfortunate truth is, no one person can just forgive Idubbz. He cannot be told "It's alright, I'm aware you've grown and changed and it's good you regret it". His actions were too large. Too vague. Too mean. He didn't hurt one group. He gave rise to racism, misogynistic and incel culture. He didn't just hurt one person, he gave rise to hatred world wide.

Even if it wasn't his intent, he did.

What's good, is that he clearly hates the people he inspired to be hateful. He's clearly at the point where he's done hiding his feelings about it and is ready to tell them off and attempt to make up for it. He wants his legacy to be more than just slurs and the farming of evil. Tana Mongeau seems to have forgiven him (or at least understands he's changed a bit) and that's good. That's the closest he'll get to a "one person was hurt" apology. What he did to her was genuinely disturbing, even more so than the rest of the people he went after.

Unfortunately, the damage is already done. Those people, those kids he accidentally helped turn into Nazis, are Nazis. Nothing he does now really matters, plus with how the alt right is, they'll assume he changed because the "woke mob" made him. However that's clearly not the case. He changed because he wanted to. It's obvious in hearing him talk about it in his apology. He's truly horrid with his past actions and hates himself. He wants to move on just like the rest of us. His motivation is noble but that won't matter to the upcoming "anti-SJW" losers that will use his change as a martyr.

What really pisses me off tho is this video, where every white stoner guy's favorite unfunny YouTuber acts as if forgiving Idubbz is entirely up to him and what he did wasn't that bad. Idubbz said slurs, attacked and bullied people online (sometimes to the point the victim has left the internet entirely) and even spent hundreds of dollars just to harass a young woman halfway across the country. That is not cool. Wake the fuck up.

It's fine if you forgive Idubbz. It's fine if you don't. But at least acknowledge he did something wrong maybe? Because he did?

Oh idk if I've forgive Idubbz but I'm a sucker for people growing up and becoming better, so I'm gonna support him as a "fan" as much as I can atm. I've seen what he can do as an enemy, I want him as an ally, yk what I mean?

i keep watching penguinz0s videos and i dont know why. its kind of like a weird self harm thing because it feels like almost every video in the past few weeks/months (ive lost track of time) has him calling random people "delusional" or "sociopaths" or "psychotic" or "narcissistic" all in a derogatory or insulting fashion and it just feels fucking awful every time i hear those words come out of his mouth because i know if he used shit like "gay" or literally any other marginalized group and/or descriptors of their symptoms as insults people would be burning him at the stake but nobody fucking cares about schizospec people or people who have personality disorders or literally any other mental health issue that isnt palatable to them
