The most perfect little grasshopper
Oh deer
Orchids!
Gotta love butterflies.
Compound eyes- check
Taste with feet- check
Pretty- check
Pretty crazy life cycle- hell ya
This is a fun one, the Virginia Spring Beauty, and wow there was a ton of them! Native to North America.
Now I have read you can eat the cooked "spuds" as well as the entire plant. I have NOT confirmed this nor tried it. Basically dont go doing that without your own research 1st.
Also they're so pretty maybe dont eat them lol
More tulips!
I should also mention I love pansies and they have edible flowers.
Related to violets and more distantly roses
Whoops just realized theres come Columbine in there too. NOT edible
Crazy colorful tulips
Plants, plants I love plants. I believe this is a Japanese Kanzan Cherry Tree in bloom
Correct me if I am wrong. I love seeing these in bloom
And my borage reseeded. Into a terrible spot in the yard, and like the sucker I am, Im gonna let these little prickle friends live and inconviently work around them
Wild violets, a native plant, are also edible and commonluly found in yards. There are a couple variations. While picking the standard purple to make violet sugar I found this white and purple type growing
May I present the mock strawberry vs the wild strawberry
The mock strawberry with its yellow flowers and, in my opinion, scruffy leaves is not native to North America. Considered invasive to naturalized depending on the area. Its fruit is edible, but not flavorful.
The wild strawberry, with white flowers and broad leaves is native to North America. It produces tiny but delicious fruit- if you can beat the critters to them. Tastes like strawberry Jolly Ranchers
Both are related to roses
This adorable spooder hung out with me recently. Even walking up to check me out.
Shes a Bold Jumping spider with the prettiest eyes.
Ah the berry bush that is doing the best. The stabbiest beast I have. I dont even like these berries. May I present the gooseberry.
Shes also gonna put out big this year. Maybe I should get one of those harvesting claws so I dont get my fingers murdered...again
The service berry flowered- missed getting pics of that, but you can see the berries forming.
Ill have to fight the birds again, but its worth it for these yummy beauties
The walking onions have returned from the dead and want to take over the garden
Ill need tp pull some to make room for my tomatoes and peppers
