14. that one thing you see in fics all the time

i went through a little b7 phase recently and it felt like a lot of fics had b'elanna growling a lot more than i expected lol, picture me nodding politely

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

i'm so bad at being mean and remembering things i don't like, wow, ok, i guess lately i don't understand why stupid jokes get so much mileage when it feels like you could swap any character or fandom or whatever and it wouldn't matter. like why are we here if all we want to see is the same thing repeated everywhere. i feel like humor adds a lot to something but if all you're looking for is the humor then it's kind of hollow ykwim

ummmm maybe worf/k'ehleyr because i remember thinking their relationship was so volatile and inconsistent, they only saw each other for such short times years apart and they didn't communicate well, and then there was alexander to pay the price of their incompatibility. but that was definitely partly a product of me being a child when i first watched tng too and now those same reasons are why i like them yay <3

Common fandom opinion everyone is wrong about 👀

i don't know how common this is but i saw someone call janeway more emotional than other captains and i just don't see that at all. i guess it's the sexism ? there are even a lot of plots where the whole point was that she wasn't letting herself feel everything she should and she has to tap into emotions to fix things. maybe it's also because of the nature of being stuck in the dq where she has to ask for help or at least be more receptive to strangers they meet whereas the men captains are in more of a status quo situation and it's usually strangers coming to them for something. regardless i think kj gets a lot of projecting onto her that she doesn't deserve.
