You know what I wish we got to see in DS9?

Bajorans with religious trauma.

Bajorans who get visibly uncomfortable when someone says they’ll pray to the Prophets for them.

Bajorans who actively dodge or slap away a monk’s hand going to grab their ear.

Bajorans who take the long route on the Promenade to avoid going past the temple.

Bajorans who cringe a little when non-Bajorans try to relate to them by talking about the things they learned about Bajor’s religious culture.

Bajorans who have been disowned my their families for not strictly following the teachings of the Prophets.

Bajorans who still keep their old religious artifacts and texts because they feel weird about getting rid of them.

Bajorans who get irritated or even angry when their friend/family member won’t do something to help themselves because “the Prophets will take care of them.”

Bajorans who were always told the Prophets loved them and would protect them, but grew up with lots of evidence to the contrary.

People usually talk about the way characters look at each other in a romantic context (and there's nothing wrong with that so don't get on your high horse or anything) but I LOVE this separate familial genre of looking at someone with stars in your eyes because like
