Background

Sirius came back from the veil years after the second wizarding war, much to everyone's surprise. He struggled for a while, but with the help of his daughter Ophelia (born to him and Remus via their surrogate Lily) and Remus, he slowly got back on track. Now he owns an autoshop and fixes up bikes for resale, and is building a relationship with his other daughter Vera (who he created, unbeknownst to him, with Marlene McKinnon before she died).

Romantically he's been all over the place. A long string of flings and failed relationships over time, until his one true love came back from the dead—Regulus Black.

Reg surprised everyone when he rose back to life from the Inferi infested waters in the cave he died in. He’d only been eighteen, alone, and guilt weighing him down as he tried so hard to disrupt the Dark Lord’s plans.

He loved his family dearly, held with most of their abhorrent pure-blood views until he couldn’t take it anymore. He saw first hand what both sides were capable of, and he wanted it to end.

His biggest regret was letting his brother Sirius walk out. He is the only one he ever loved, his soulmate. It broke his heart when he left home but they’ve both been through too much to let the universe stop them being together. His new life is an odd one but it’s his and for once, he answers to no one. He still suffers from nightmares of his teenage death, closes his eyes and sees the creatures pulling him down to the bottom of the lake. The water suffocating him.

“Still working out then I see old man? Watch you don’t break a hip.”

He wiped the sweat from his forehead, stepping back slightly from the punching bag as he looked to his daughter.

Dopey grin pulling over his mouth, “so hilarious.”

“You love it.” She smirked as she settled down on one of the benches, just watching him.

“What did the punching bag ever do to you huh?”

“Just needed to let off some steam.” He shrugged, taking off his boxing gloves so he could grab his water.

Reg huffs and tugs on Sirius’ arm, pulling him away from the guy on the ground. It had started off innocently but they’d been recognised and the stranger had reached for his wand.

“Don’t, it’s not worth it, please.”

He had his wand pointed at the stranger, dark look in his eye as he clenched his jaw.

Fully intent on unleashing the killing curse, “you think he wasn’t going to do the same?” He snapped.

“Stop it —“ he tugs harder on his brothers arm, he won’t let him do something stupid and reckless, not to protect /him/.

“You’re better than him.” He hisses.

His gripped tightened on his wand, for a second it crossed his mind just to /do/ it.

But instead he shrugged off Reg’s touch off and knelt on the ground. Grabbing the man by the scruff of his robes, he pressed his wand against the mans temple, “obliviate.” He spat.

He hadn't been to the shop in so long. Had let himself get wrapped in other things, let it all take a back seat, but he felt like he needed a break. Needed to work. Getting antsier by the day.

His speaker blared music as he worked on a truck—wiping sweat from his forehead, half singing along to lines that he knew from odd songs.

It had been a while since she’d seen her father in person. Since they’d met for lunch a few weeks back. Work had been insanely busy. She had tried to leave, to maybe just sneak her way out, but it had proved almost impossible.

She stopped the motorcycle outside of the shop, swinging one leg the other way to slip off. Boots clicked as she stopped, fingers moving to lower the volume. “You look busy.”

He poked his head around the vehicle, dopey smile pulling over his face as he saw her. Grabbing the cloth to wipe his oil stained hands.

“Makes a different to usual, doesn’t it?” He joked as he pushed himself to stand, to make his way over to her, sweep her up in a bear hug, “Hello, by the way.”

“Hello.” She opened her arms as he got closer, meeting his hug with her own. She let out a small laugh.

“Ah, so you did miss me!” She pecked his cheek, tilting her head to one side. “I’m sorry I haven’t come by to see you. Things have been crazy busy.”

“Of course I miss you.” He smiled down at her as he let her go, gently patted her face with his oil covered hand.

“Don’t be sorry—I’ve had my fair share of hectic. Nice to see you now though.”

He was out and about, needed to clear his head a little— fiddling with his newly placed wedding band, which he was still getting use too.

heading into the shop in his oiled up scruffs he slammed gently down on the top of the hood with a grin. “hey old man.”

It made him jump slightly, swearing as he stabbed his hand with his screwdriver. Rolling out to look up at him with a playful glare.

“thanks for that you little shit.” He quipped, pushing himself up, shoving to boy slightly before he ruffled his hair. Grinning, “long time, no see.”
