This is my face being ready for a damn break from work. What is everyone else up to this weekend?
I think with the holiday season coming up, you do serve a break. Well... Other than enjoying the snow and letting my nieces drag me out in the cold to build snowmen. I am doing great.
Ended up borrowing my neighbors bike this morning for the coffee run and I had perhaps a little too much fun. Did you know the word bicycle in part comes from the ancient greek word Kuklos meaning wheel? I feel as if Aristophanes would have approved of this behavior.
I did know about the etymology of the word but I doubt Aristophanes would approve of that behaviour. Please tell me you survived and didn’t get scratched.
I’m out at a bar last night, and thinking I’m completely safe, and nobody saw me leave or get there. Surely no sneaky person with a camera would find me here, and that’s when my eyes caught the camera, and a person while in mid-conversation, just before the flash.
At least this is the only photo that was taken, and I still had fun, so I suppose the night wasn’t completely lost. Ah, welcome back to America.
You can never escape a fan or the media, Thane. But I’m glad you had a good time nonetheless.
Throwback to when I thought the criminal look suited me. Does anybody else have any hair regrets?

After 2 years of working with the Danish royalty, Sirius knew the pockets of time to take leave. He knew Christmas and New Year's would be difficult to take time off and visit his family so he decided to go way earlier. This time round, he'd be with Keila. His family kept texting him to ask if he was okay with the arrangements they were making in-lieu of Keila's visit. As much as he was glad at how welcoming they are, Sirius was afraid that it'd be overwhelming for Keila. They have been Skyping a little more often as well -- it was one way to get her to get used to their excited, enthusiastic chatter.
As their flight landed on Danish soil, Sirius reached for her hands and let their fingers intertwine. "They'll love you, elskede. But you already know that." He leaned down to kiss her cheek gently. "And you'd get to see snow too." His hometown was already freezing according to his sister. And they made plans to go further up north to spend some family time as well. Sirius grinned with his blue hues twinkling as he reached over to pinch her nose. She wrinkled her nose in response. "I am sure my brother's children would bug you to build snowmen with them." He chuckled softly and shrugged. "If you want to sing the Frozen songs, you can do that too," he teased. When the movie came out, the references to build a snowman kept throwing itself at him.
As soon as they entered the arrival hall, calls for his name were heard. Sirius' face lit up when he laid his eyes on his family. He could feel Keila tightening her grip on his hand as they approached. And just as expected, his sister and mom were immediately all over Keila. "Ma, please. She's tired." Of course Keila was gracious enough to shake her head and entertained any questions they had for her.
They were whisked back to his parents' home and the entire time, Keila talked to his family, always smiling, stealing glances at Sirius who was silently observing their interactions. As they taught Keila some broken Danish, his family laughed at her pronunciation and proceeded to correct her. There was always some kind of joke being shared amongst them -- the chatter was always lively. They watched snow pouring down with hot mugs of cocoa in their hands as they waited for dinner to be ready. Keila was one of the first ones in the kitchen, volunteering to help his mother. Sirius slowly sipped on his hot cocoa as he watched his mother patiently explaining to Keila what she was cooking tonight.
After dinner, Sirius showed Keila his old bedroom and shrugged. "Excuse the books, elskede," he said sheepishly. His mother had kept the arrangement of his room the same after all these years -- with the exception of the bed. His dad had replaced it with a queen sized bed. Sirius ran his finger through his hair as he led Keila into his room, sitting on the edge of the bed. He linked his hands with hers as he looked up to her chocolate hues. "See... I told you'd do just fine with my family." He smiled at her, showing off his dimples. "You did well, elskede." Keila leaned down to press her lips on his amd Sirius kissed her back. Pulling her gently down to the bed, he laid her down, still kissing her.
"I love you."
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. Yes- well, no.He broke up with me a few days ago. That must be a very important job.

The escape away from reality was exactly what Keila needed. The staff turnover at the museum was daunting but she would never complain. She loved her job and held a passion for knowledge. And on top of that she was taking two classes at the university. By summer her degree would be complete here and she could start her masters. This was exciting for the Iraqi girl. “Good,” she murmured against his mouth and pulled back to sit back in her seat. She didn’t catch the reference. She was still trying to learn American music. There was too much to learn and some of it she didn’t understand.
Her eyes narrowed at him playfully. He had a way of teasing her, all out of good fun, but it still caused an effect on her. Keila liked to be prepared. Make sure they would see everything that needed to be seen. She liked to soak in knowledge like a sponge. A solo digit poked at his cheek before she spoke. “ It is about a 2.6 mile hike. Which is’t too bad. It shouldn’t be too busy. Not many visit it.” She paused for a moment knowing what she had packed in her bag. They were going to take pictures, which she knew they would, but she had something else in mind. “If it’s not too cold, I thought we could go swimming.” She smiled coyly over at him.
The rest of the drive she filled him in with other information she had gathered. Letting him know which trails they would have to take to reach their destination. She had it all mapped out and in her bag for him. Soon the topic drifted over to the holidays and she was still nervous to meet his family. They seemed to adore her from the skype calls, but she still worried. They drove down Chantry Flats and parked the vehicle. She climbed out of the car and looked around in awe at how beautiful it was and it was only the start. Her fingers laced with his and she smiled. “It is.” She pointed to the trail that said Frist Water. “We start there.”
Sirius loves teasing Keila. There was something about her narrowing her eyes, poking him with playful spit or even just her laugh at how ridiculous he can be. It was his way of being affectionate and true enough, she poked his cheek. Grinning, her digit somehow was nicely positioned in his dimple. When she started filling him the details, Sirius listened, humming whenever appropriate and made mental calculations on how long they’d take to finish the hike together with their photo taking. “You know, luckily I brought extra clothes just in case. Wouldn’t want to be soaking wet after that do we?” He caught her coy smile and winked at her.
It still astounds him on how easy it was to be with her. They could talk about literally anything and the topic would deviate and still, they would be able to converse with ease. He knew she was nervous meeting his family no matter how much he convinced her not to be. Well if the roles were reversed, he’d be afraid as well. His family is probably the most welcoming. He had told them separately about Keila and her past even though he wasn’t intrusive. Some things are meant to be kept private. He gave another smile when their fingers interlocked. His thumb caressed the back of her hand in gentle circles. “Lead on min elskede,” he whispered softly against her ear before kissing the lobe.
They walked through the woods, following the path that was covered with small rocks and fallen twigs. What Keila had predicted is true, there was barely anyone around at all. Autumn has arrived in California and even though the chilly weather wasn’t as cold as what Sirius is used to, it was always nice to know that nature never fails to make him feel at ease. They stopped along the path to take photographs of both nature and each other. “Are you heading to the creek?” Sirius asked Keila as they came to a sign board pointing ahead. He gave her a crooked grin and tugged her hand along. “Well Miss Maahs, if you want that swim, we better head there.”

Yeah, it gets a little hectic sometimes, but we all manage. I’ve been in it for a while. I was considered pro when I was brand spanking eighteen. I fought longer than that, but I’m 28 now
Wow. That’s quite a feat to achieve when you’re 18. I had my nose stuck in the books then. Did you get influenced by those Rocky movies or something like that?

That’s easier said than done with an eight year old, man. Yeah, I thin most kids just get exceited about it. She’s already passed it though and onto Christmas now. She keeps tellin’ me what she wants. The dentist costs are ridiculous. I’m trying to save as much money as I can by keepin’ her brushing good.
Oh I am sure! Especially with your little one. She’s a bundle of excitement all over. And now I can picture her telling you what she wants.. Does she still want a puppy? I sort of recall Keila telling me that some time ago. And floss! Don’t forget about that. Sometimes things get stuck there and it’s irritating.
Not everyone is meant to stay in your life forever, sometimes they are only there long enough to teach you the lesson that you needed to learn.

Oh. I would ask if people really do that, but I’m sure they do. I wouldn’t judge you if you had Sirius. I will wait to see what she says. I like sneaking away with you. Our own adventures. I don’t know. I will need your help. You know what they like.
I know you will. I was hoping that maybe my mom would come. But I think the city would be too much for her.
People do that, yes. But I don’t think it suits us unless you really want to.. I mean if you want to try it, perhaps we can but it’s slightly odd discussing this here really. I certainly will. We can go during the weekend? I am sure we can find something for my siblings at those quaint shops near Santa Monica.
Perhaps it may be.. Has your aunt persuaded your mom to see where she lives? I mean if its a city still within the country, the shock wouldn’t be as big you know?

Oh I’ve always held an appreciation for them but now I understand exactly the patience they have. It definitely can be but it’s also so worth it in the end. We did have a blast and that’s what counted. Thank you. How have you been, Sirius?
I can see the merry men entertaining you with their antics for sure! I am good, thank you. Things are a little busy with the royal wedding next year and I am planning go visit my folks at the end of November.

What? Uh... A booty call is something like... you calling someone to have sex? I’m actually not sure. I haven’t done this before.. Is Elliot explaining to you clearly? Sneak away? Elskede, we don’t have to sneak away. We can just go to anywhere you want. And what do you plan on buying them hhmmm?
