It deeply saddens me that Infold has decided to cancel Valko's debut. They have already deleted his stuff off many platforms, so I've download them all and put them on a drive folder so that other fans can access it.
Frustrated at the moment about the decision to cancel Valko. Though I don't disagree that the OG LI need more story development, the cancelation of not just Valko, but LI in general seems a bit strange. They could have pulled in new audience with this introduction of a unique character, then added to the original story lines afterwards.
All that time, money and effort the team put into creating and advertising him is now meaningless. I am questioning if I trust the team after this announcement, and like many other people I'm considering removing the game. I do not want to invest in a game that does not uphold their promises.
I'm sure there's probably other things going on in the background, but if they do remove him, it's not going to look good.
Introduced as the King of Curses, and the most dangerous evil entity since chapter 1, Ryomen Sukuna has embodied his title 100%.
In this post im going to break down how Sukuna is portrayed within the story & how it parallels Japanese Buddhism’s Myths & Lore.
First and foremost, the name choice “Ryomen Sukuna” has a lot of symbolism in itself. Being an actual deity in Japanese mythology, Sukuna’s symbolism begins with him sharing a body with Yuji. “Ryomen” means “double faced”, an obvious parallel applied in the story.
It is also said that Sukuna originally symbolizes twin brothers, or the sons of an ancient Japanese ruler, obviously still matching the theme of Yuji and Sukuna sharing a body.
Considering Sukuna has cursed users who seem to be his underlings, it would make sense this is Akutami’s way of displaying Sukuna’s “double sides”, where the people under him he looks after, gaining their respect and admiration.
This also applies to Sukuna’s conversation with Jogo. At first Sukuna comes off extremely condescending towards Jogo, making him fight to gain his help.
Jogo is entirely obliterated by Sukuna, but not before Sukuna gives him words of wisdom, just like a King/Ruler.
Side Note:
This “space” between reality and death might the approach towards “Nirvana”, something curses can get into easier due to their connection to cursed energy.
I’m looking more into this separately 😬
Interestingly, Sukuna is split into 20 fingers, in unknown locations throughout Japan. This is a really cool implementation of the “Sukuna Curse”, a real life legend about the Mummy of Sukuna being kept in wooden box, and cursing those that open it.

A native Japanese tells you about Ryomen Sukuna in Japanese mythology. It seems Ryomen Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen refers to some of these myth
We know that Sukuna’s body was incased in grave wax and preserved possibly. This is probably where Akutami gained the inspiration for his body being split up.
Interestingly, Sukuna was once a hero as well in his lore, saving people from their doom. In the Sekishimonoho, it is said that Sukuna was an “unordinary human” who killed a venomous dragon
This same legend is said in the Gifu prefecture as well, where a shrine is built.
I found this information while looking for some relation between Sukuna and Yamata no Orochi, a deity JJK’s Sukuna mentions directly when facing General Mahoraga, comparing the two - saying they are just alike.
Yamata no Orochi is an evil Dragon in Japanese Mythology.
Side note: Mahoraga has the Wheel representing the Eight Fold Path in Buddhism, and Yamata No Orochi has Eight heads/tails.
Both entities are considered “Great Serpents”. Mahoraga also represented the 10 sacred treasures, while Orochi created the 3 Sacred Imperial Regalia!
Maybe Akutami is mixing IRL Sukuna’s lore to create the Sukuna we know in Jujutsu Kaisen, and the mention of Yamata no Orochi was homage to the IRL Sukuna’s lore of killing an evil Dragon. In the world of JJK maybe Susanoo (original orochi killer) is replaced with Sukuna?
Continuing, there is a major parallel being made between Sukuna and Yama aka the King of Hell.
To be more specific, in Japanese Buddhism, Yama is known as Emma-ō, who judges the souls of men (but has a sister who judges the souls of women), let me explain-
Emma-ō sends these souls to one of the 16 regions of Fire or Ice until their next Rebirth.
Fire and Ice… Male and Female.... Rebirth… sound familiar? 👀
The symbolism doesn’t stop there. Sukuna’s hand sign while doing his Domain expansion, is a Mandala of Emma aka the Enmanten Mandala.
It is said that Enma is depicted sitting on a buffalo.. I think this one is obvious! Buffalo Skulls are a HUGE symbol in Sukuna’s Domain/Soul.
Also, its said that Enmanten (the split of Enma) presides over the twelve deities.. once again feeling like a “king of curses” reference for Sukuna, as well as the double face.
Not to mention the uncanny similarities in the arts of Yama(Enma) & Sukuna’s form revealed by Akutami.
The wrathful, terrifying Yama can be found throughout Buddhist scriptures and art. Although he is frightening, he's a good guy.
Finally, I want to talk about Chinjusan Hill, where a statue of Sukuna is at. This statue resides over a town called Kanayama, a place Sukuna apparently loved. Here, there is a temple with two twin statues, one depicting the sound “A” and the other “Um” to form “Aum” -
I find this really interesting because “Aum” makes the sound “Om”, which is a three part word breaking down each letter of “Aum”.
A = Creation
U = Manifestation
M = Destruction
This trio represents the mind, body and spirit, and the combination is the unification of these.
A whole lot of meaning packed into one simple sound.
Sukuna going from a Human to a Curse who can survive after having his body split is a huge representation of Sukuna’s “Honored one” motif, aligned with the idea that Buddha and Buddha-vistas are in perfect harmony with “Om”!
There’s a bunch more stuff I have found that I haven’t fully pieced together Yet, but I hope you enjoyed this thread!
I really love the way Sukuna is being used in the story, and the deeper we get into Buddhist themes, the better he’ll get!!
Art of my OC Hatake Shuji, from my story Even flow. Pretty happy about the result, but for some reason it keeps on getting slightly blurred whenever I try to submit the drawing. Maybe the quality was too high?
"Blood kin do not abandon each other," Ayre continued. "A Verdosi does not leave one of their own to die. If the human king has taken my sister into slavery, then I will save her from him."
Her voice was quiet, but it carried the certainty of stone—immovable, unshakable.
"No matter what."
Ayre's hand rested on the hilt of her blade.
She had learned something important today. She had learned that her people were not as isolated as she'd believed. That half-faeries existed and suffered under human cruelty.
But none of that changed her mission.
Fallow was waiting.
And Ayre would find her.

Another clip of my story I'm writing, plus some art of my character. So far this feels like the best representation of her character, so here's to hoping this is the final look.
Wanted to share some exciting news. Officially writing my own series, and I wanted to post an official mood board and a quick clip of the book. It's not going to be finished anytime soon, but it is in the works!
...
The bond between them flared bright and hot and absolutely certain. Whatever is necessary. Whatever keeps our people safe. Whatever keeps our lands ours. A pause. Even if it means showing the Seelie exactly how barbaric we can be.
Raenisa's conviction blazed through their connection like fire, and Ayre reached for it. Held onto it. Let it fill the spaces inside her that felt too empty, too quiet, too much like nothing at all.
This was what mattered. This was what she was for.
Duty. Protection. The defense of her people and her king.
She'd sworn an oath five hundred years ago, and she would keep it. Would keep flying these patrols and standing these watches and attending these Gatherings until the world ended or she did.
It had always been enough before.
The cold bit deeper, but Ayre barely felt it now. There was only Raenisa's certainty bleeding through their bond, the steady beat of wings that never faltered, and the mountains stretching before them like a promise written in snow and stone.
Not to sound like a decrepit, rambling corpse about it, but back in my day Word used to be a pre installed program that came with your computer, if you were running Windows.
No subscription. Just program.
On your computer. You got to use it forever and ever and never had to worry about it going away.
Because it was physically on your computer. As a program. That you actually owned. Not because you got it separately, but because it was a standard inclusion with your computer.
I'm sorry but I'll just never get over it. I remember when companies cared about their products being usable out of the box. I remember when our things belonged to us.
Old man shaking fist at cloud, wherein the cloud is the background of the Windows 98 logo.
This. One of the reasons why Toji is my favorite character is because I realized the same thing about him. I will not excuse his behavior, especially when it comes to his children, but I do understand. Trauma has formed him into what he was, and for that I will always feel sympathy for him.
Art of my OC Mako in my reincarnation fic, paired with Sasuke. A take on the cold hearted reality of being shoved into a world that raises child soldiers. A new chapter is going to be posted soon!
A Mostly Brief History of Vampires vol. I: working synopsis & working cover (1.01)
Scholars have been stunned by the origin of vampires since the earliest found records of the night-bound creatures were written in cuneiform. Popular modern theories might tell you that vampirism first appeared somewhere around 2,000 years ago. They may even attempt to claim that vampirism was caused by some sort of virus that could one day be cured. But Rammy knew better. In fact, Rammy knew a lot more than he ever wished to. The origin of their kind was never his obsession. Yet in the seven centuries since his creator’s death, Rammy has been cursed with the ancient father of all vampires playing with his shadow like his life is a toy to be fiddled with out of boredom.
Then there’s Justice. Another vampire, another half-made, who is dead set on making Rammy break every promise he’s sworn to himself in the last century.
Meanwhile, ancient memories explore the world of the Late Neolithic as immortals dance around each other in an endless display of power. And on the sidelines, Father Levi slowly realizes the extent of which all his assumptions were wrong.
(vol. I: work in progress. first draft to be finished mid 2026. follow for author notes along with drabbles, short stories, art, and future excerpts set in the same universe)
My best friend has a growth that does not bode well, so I'm desperately trying to get the funds to at least ensure he has the best life possible. He's been my soul since I've been out of the military as I try to recover from my PTSD. Please put good thoughts out there for my boy, he's truly an amazing dog who deserves everything. 💜❤️🐾
