I can't stop thinking about how much mole skeletons remind me of whale skeletons.

We're all familiar with Space Whales but nobody ever talks about Space Moles. Or Desert Whales. Or Giant Ocean Moles. And that's terrible.

hi what do you clean your bones with :0 i found a pretty clean deer skeleton in the woods today and kept the skull, some connected vertebrae, and the pelvis, but i definitely need to clean them and this is my first time doing something like this! thank you so much :)

Hey there! So my bones had no flesh on them when she found them but if yours do you can clean them by slow cooking off the flesh (there are also some other methods but that’s the easiest). For mine they were quite muddy and mossy so I soaked them in warm soapy water over night and gave them a good scrub (dawn soap is what you should use because it’s gentle). To get them nice in and white I filled a buck and soaked them in 3% hydrogen peroxide (you can buy it at drug stores in the first aid section). My bones were super old So I had to soak them a long time to get them as white as I wanted. I would say I soaked them for about 2 1/2 days. Remember never use bleach!

Finished and cleaned cow vertebrae! I love how it turned out even though it’s still a bit green! As for the other bones one is going to a candle holder and I’m going to carve the other! I’ll post the results when they’re done!

Update on the bone situation:

I have a cool vertebrae and a leg bone and also a tail bone. I’m gonna give the leg bone to my biology teacher because it’s too big for my house. However I need to bleach and clean em first.....need to figure that out! Also got my bro to hold the leg bone, he was slightly disturbed.

This lady and her kid told me about some bones they saw in the woods near my house, turns out it was a whole cow skeleton?! I live in the city so that was weird....I picked some good ones and friend helped pick some other ones (for a sociallly appropriate distance away). And we were off!

The bone saga part 1

Went out in the woods today to look for some bones! No luck, but I haven’t given up yet. Although I did find any bones I still found some other interesting stuff. Including a shovel and a old barrel. Not to mention some Truly fancy trees. I’ve explored the woods a lot and this is no where near the weirdest stuff I’ve seen. Maybe I’ll post some more stories here about that.
