GONE GIRL (2014) dir. David Fincher
         endless tanaya beatty icons // ( 1/ ? )
bullet trotted eagerly beside him as they wandered the forest trail, enjoying the breeze that gently shuffled the trees around them. the peace and quiet was almost unsettling to him, as it was so at odds with what he was accustomed to. he could definitely get used to it though, he decided, watching his belgian malinois frolic through the leaves and underbrush. he couldnât help but notice the wide space a random hiker gave them, and he sighed.  â heâs not aggressive, â sila stated mildly, even though he was aware his seventy pound pure black dog certainly looked intimidating. bullet tilted his head inquisitively, tail wagging as he watched the patrons around them.
rachel had always been a dog person. maybe it was just the relatively recent revelation that multiple men in her life turned into giant dogs that had made her wary. stifling the burst of slightly hysterical laughter that would make her seem insane to the stranger, she shook her head with a smile. â better to be safe than sorry, right? â still, at his word, she moved closer, â can i pet him then? â he was a beautiful dog. sheâd never had a dog of her own, but whenever sheâd considered getting one, it was always a big breed like this good boy. â whatâs his name? â

Keeping up with the number of local boys shifting on the reservation was difficult to say the least. Emily often joked to the pack she was going to have to get a second job to just pay the growing and never ending grocery list.Â
The woman found herself at the small convenience store located in La Push after work as a she ran a few errands before heading home. the store didnât have a lot of stock, mainly some necessity items to get you by in between large box store trips. Emily mainly loved it for itâs small produce selection; liking that management bought local in season fruits and vegetables from those on the reservation.Â
âPotatoesâŚ.Potatoesâ she mumbled to herself as she browsed the small stand, hoping her eyes hadnât missed them or that they werenât currently out of stock. âah haâ Emily mused in excitement as she finally spotted them. Noticing someone in front of her she smiled sweetly, not even noticing who the woman was at first. âexcuse me, would you mind handing me a few of those potatoes?â ( @sisterdreamer )
âI see you havenât grown any taller since Iâve been gone.â Rachel joked, despite knowing the potatoes were well within Emilyâs reach, if only Rachel wasnât in the way. Grabbing them, she turned to offer a polite smile to other woman. Truthfully, she didnât know how happy to recognize her Emily would be.
Back in high school, she had sided with Leah during the whole fallout with her, Emily, and Sam, offering a fierce cold shoulder and the occasional harsh word towards the pair that had hurt Leah. Now that sheâd run into Paul and learned just what imprinting was - alongside the fact that all the legends were true - well, while she still empathized with Leah, Rachel could recognize that it was just an awful situation with an unavoidable outcome.Â
Feeling awkward, Rachel pushed the potatoes towards the other woman almost like a pseudo-peace offering. âSo, these for the boys? Paul told me you feed them all the time.â she lowered her voice a touch, joking, âPack mom, and all that...âÂ
lwilighlmusesâ:
Leah had been doing her best.
She was handling it, which is more than she could say for some other people she knew. She got up every day, did her rounds, did her part to protect her people from the random influx of leeches that had entered the area. She was stuck in her ex-boyfriendâs head, she literally couldnât move on, so she was coping the best way she knew how; anger was easier than the hurt.
But now Rachel was back, and things looked a lot better than they had before.
For what felt like the first time in forever, a large, genuine smile exploded onto Leahâs face as she wrapped her arms around Rachel. âI missed you too,â she admitted. âSo much.â She squeezed a little tighter and rocked them slightly back and forth before pulling away. âIâm so glad youâre back.â
Leah didnât know how else to approach the whole âRachel now knows everything because of the imprintâ thing without just outright asking, and so, she did. âHow are you? Handling all this⌠new shit alright?â
Pulling back from the hug feeling all warm and fuzzy, she grinned, plopping down on a park bench and dragging Leah down with her. Well, perhaps that was stretching it. Given the amount of new muscle sheâd felt on the other woman, there was probably no dragging her anywhere. âIâm...well, Iâm glad to see everyone again.â Itâd be a lie to say she was glad to be back and theyâd both know it.Â
Blowing out a gusty breath, Rachel shook her head. âItâs...a lot.â Not that she had any room to complain now that sheâd been thrust into a world of living legends, when Leah was literally one of said living legends. âAnd the imprinting...I didnât really intend to stay here this long, but now...I canât imagine leaving without Paul.â It was both a blessing and a curse. She couldnât imagine another relationship ever being so fulfilling and so restricting, all at once.Â
âBut weâre talking about me? Leah, youâre literally a shapeshifter! Basically a werewolf!â Realizing in public probably wasnât the greatest place to be nearly shouting that, she shot a surreptitious glance around, but thankfully it seemed like she hadnât caught anyoneâs attention. âI mean, whatâs that like?â
