ive made up my mind can i request anything to do with them personally feeding u? with any character u want, as long as you have fun making it!! (now that i think abt it, u could also incorporate it into alien aether LMAO)
ok so this is supposed to be cute but considering the character i decided to write for… well um.
Looking at the mess strewn all over the floor—scattered papers, shattered vases, and claw marks that you cannot explain—a poor witness would come to the obvious conclusion of bloody murder.
“Get that away from me!”
“Are you always this difficult when you’re feverish?” Lohen wonders, though the smile on his face betrays his feigned exasperation. He’s been smiling the entire time, which, frankly, irked you more than his attempts to poison you!
“I’m not poisoning you!” he laughs brightly—and he must not see how simply incredulous it sounds coming from him, of all people.
You growl. “I’ll call for help. I’ll scream. Lisa will kill us both.”
He swishes the vial around, looking muddy green and disgusting. “It’s just herbs, I'm pretty sure.”
“I can live without those!”
The yelling catches up to you in a sudden throbbing behind your eyes, interrupting your spiel with uncomfortable writhing and an unbidden whine. Lohen’s face drops, the playful mood vanishing for a second. He closes the distance soon enough, hovering anxiously in case you wobble in the wrong direction.
Lohen wipes off sweat that’s begun to accumulate on your forehead. “Do you want to stay confined to this room? I mean, I wouldn’t mind, but you’ll get all restless and blame me for not making you drink this.”
Your snarl twists into a pout, a foolproof look that usually gets you out of whatever he makes you do. But Lohen just watches with that infuriating quirk to his lips as you even bat your lashes. You almost think it worked, by the way his eyes flicker downward for a moment too long, but you still end up with your jaw in his hand, and the vial pressed against your mouth.
“I’ll kill you for this,” you swear, glaring with all your might. “Once I’m back in business, you’ll be out of it.”
“Oh, I’m sure,” Lohen coos, tipping the concoction to your lips. The bitter taste of what seems like grass clippings and boiled Dendro Slime scalds your throat. You gag and grip his arm tight enough to hurt just to be petty, but Lohen makes sure you gulp it all, just as Barbara advised. “Once you can take more than three steps to the other room, you’re more than welcome, pretty.”
a/n so i know NOTHING about lohen but i wanted to write something for akagi!! there’s really no occasion, but i was just thinking about thawed the other day and thought to write something for this account. and eventually settled on writing a character i’ve never met ingame, like a true larper <- I’M NOT EVEN GONNA USE THE LOHEN TAG BRUH
💎🐇Timeline: After the events of Lohen's story quest, during his re-visit to Nod Krai to 'tie loose ends'. [right before Snezhnaya]
when you're literally in the process of saving the world but there's an unskippable cutscene (cough childhood friends that got separated and has been yearning for years cough)
Shaking the bars of my enclosure to check in! How are you doing? Everything ok?
-deadman aether anon
OH MY GOSH HIIII hello deadman aether anon!!

how about uu 😭❤️ how are you our beloved deadman aether ano
hai hai !!!! (≧▽≦) i hope u r doing well, i’ve been wanting to send you an ask for a rllie long time now, but i kept overthinking it because i never quite felt like i could properly hold all my feelings for thawed in words. still . . i wanted to try, even if it comes out a little messy, because it really deserves to be said !!! take ur time in answering of course !! i just finished rereading the full series again, and i think it hit me even deeper this time than the first 🥺🌀💓 uwah . . i’ve been following your writing for about two and a half years now n i’ve always admired it and u as a person !!! but this series felt more than just reading a story for entertainment purposes !!! everything in it felt so intentional . . from the pacing to the pauses & the way emotions don’t rush but slowly gather and then spill over when they can’t stay contained anymore )): i truly can’t believe this much talent can exist in a single person but u have managed to prove me wrong time n time again ♡
lyney has always been my favorite character in genshin, so seeing him written with this kind of emotional depth meant a lot to me !!! the way you wrote him ;n; especially w the tension between his performer self and the parts of him that only exist when the curtain falls — felt so real it that it actually hurt a little . . i felt several tight squeezes in my chest & there were so many moments where i had to pause jst to sit with what i was feeling, because it felt too accurate to just move past without freaking out abt it <3333 u absolutely nailed his characterization and i found myself constantly thinking ‘this is exactly something he’d say’ or ‘this is definitely how he would react / feel / etc’ !!! >__< also couldn’t type this out without mentioning the beautifully made relationships in this series !!! gah can i jst say that they felt so layered in a way that never reduced anyone to just one role . . which i rarely ever see on here, our loveliest rosalie felt like a kind of home that doesn’t cage you but still remembers you when you leave. arlecchino felt terrifying in the way storms are terrifying, but still intricately structured — even her control still leaves room for choice which i rllie liked 🙇🏻♀️ n then there is freminet’s care that felt understated but steady + there is the star of the show himself !!! lyney !!! he loves in a way that feels both overwhelming and fragile at the same time !!!
a few things i noticed that i wanted to point out : the way “home” kept shifting meaning throughout the story, never staying fixed but never disappearing either, the idea that leaving was never a sudden act . . jst something already chosen long before it was spoken aloud, lyney’s confession feeling less like a dramatic peak and more like something honest that couldn’t really be avoided anymore !!! ( i nearly exploded when i read this bit 🥹 ah !!! ) and the final return where everything doesn’t resolve through conflict, but through a kind of quiet belonging instead !!! the last line hit me particularly hard because of how well-placed it was :’3 i think what stayed with me the most is that thawed never treated love or attachment like something simple or clean !!!! it let it be complicated, sometimes painful, sometimes uncertain and terrifying but still warm . . still human . . and in the end it felt less heavy and more understanding !!! i don’t really know how to phrase this well so please excuse me if this doesn’t make much sense (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄) but it made me feel seen in a way !! by demonstrating the messy parts of loving someone n the parts that don’t always make sense or sit neatly weren’t treated as something wrong, just something real that exists and deserves patience !!!
and i rllie do admire how cohesive it all feels emotionally ^^;; even the small moments from earlier come back later in ways that feel intentional rather than accidental, as if the story remembers itself ?! i think !! this kind of structure feels very carefully held, and it’s something i really respect as a reader and writer !! i fear i have talked for long enough so to this end this off — i wanted to say thank you. apologies for the length & how all over the place this message might be but i’ve been carrying these thoughts for a while and didn’t want to let the series pass without telling you what it meant to me 🥺 if that’s okay !! it’s genuinely one of my favorite things i’ve ever read in general, and i know i’ll come back to it many more times in the future !! thank u for ur services again loveliest six ♡
— signed, a long time fan of urs !!! 💌
anon 🥹🥹🥹i genuinely teared up reading all of this hello?? i’m so glad i decided to check tumblr today, even though i’m a day late AAAAGHHH
HELLO this wasn’t messy at all. i think you worded your thoughts wonderfully and i am honored my work is the subject of it 🙂↕️ and omg, such a long time fan!!! i was really surprised to receive an ask when i’ve been so busy and inactive 😭💔
i’m so happy to hear that you liked the way i wrote lyney!! my favorite thing to hear will always be the fact that you guys think my characterization is accurate aaahhh And i absolutely adore your analysis for “home” ! “the idea that leaving was never a sudden act” is so cute. i’ll admit it’s one of those unintentional things that just came along with my main idea, but now that u point it out omg 🥹🥹🥹🥹 that’s incredible.
i don’t know who you are anon but i hope you know much i truly truly appreciate this 😭❤️this is exactly the kind of message writers need in their lives (and it makes writing thawed so worth it) and thank you so so much for taking the time to write all of this out. i can’t even fathom it—over something i created so long ago? it felt so distant before but this just reminded me how much i loved writing thawed. and how it means so much to me that there are people like you out there who might possibly love thawed as much as i do, if not more 😭
again, thank you so much! i’m pinning this on my wall btw.
fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didn’t grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like “bro what is this 😭.” why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.
“college is absolutely nothing like this” “why are we writing four people on the team scoring a hat trick in one game” “so tech work is nothing like this, hope that helps!”
if you don’t like a fic, and if you can’t suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you don’t have to read it. you don’t have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you don’t have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. it’s not giving baby’s first fandom anymore, it’s giving entitled asshole and it isn’t as cute as you think it is.
