Heya! Welcome to my blog! I am a Junior at Elsewhere U and heard that a lot of students use these blogs to communicate so I thought I might jump on the bandwagon! My roommate Cass is an art major, and I'm technically sharing this account with her so she might get on- but she hates technology so probably not too often! So the school traditions…  I mean, they’re a fun little thing, part of why I picked Elsewhere in the first place, I’m not really complaining.  It’s just, everyone takes them weirdly seriously?

I guess it’s some kind of superstition thing, mixed with a dose of school spirit or something?  I don’t know, there’s not much of a point to this post.  I’m just a little miffed that people yell at me whenever I try to take shortcuts.  “Stay on the path!” yeah ok sure but it’s faster if I cut across the grass, let me live my life

hoo boy, you’re one of mine, right?  Cedar dorm?  tumblr’s quieted down a lot recently, but you should still watch yourself on here, the eu community has been known to get quite hectic, and drama often has consequences

as for “shortcuts” vs staying on the path, that one’s really more of a safety thing.  you never know what you’ll run into/step on/etc, and the campus is deceptively hard to navigate, especially if you go wandering away from the sidewalks

That’s less an explanation and more a vaguely ominous bit of advice, but I’ll take it I guess?

This campus for whatever reason is and has been full of tricksters and capricious people as well as some who take things a bit too literally and will adamantly hold you to what you say... so a lot of superstitions on campus have some valid reason or another that they exist and it just makes you less likely to run into any of that.

As a whole take everything people say that with a grain of salt, be careful with strangers and strange suggestions or things that sound too good to be true and you should be good! Nice to meet you!
