Here you'll find oddities, curiosities, and every flavor of freakish fascination, pulled straight from the abyssal dredges of my restless cranium! Prepare to be amazed by my curated collection of maddening musings! Atrocious art! And of course, the occasional cat video! Step right up... if you dare!
A little bit about myself:
I like spooky stuff, I write and draw, and I play violin here and there. I'm obsessed with old movies, weird music, and endless research spirals. I explode into viscera on occasion. The rest is an enigma.
Ask box is periodically open. Art account is @sixtysilverwishes-art. Want to commission me? See here!

Current Events and Social Issues
Politics- mainly using my platform to be hopeful, and not cynical when it comes to politics, both in the US and abroad. The world is a mess right now, and I want to focus on what gets us through it.
Palestine- I'll share links for humanitarian aid orgs, but not individual fundraisers for now. I've seen a rise in scam bots recently, so I want to ensure that any money I encourage people to donate is guaranteed to help people who need it.
Intersectionality- I try to view social issues through an intersectional lens. I'm mainly interested in how they impact one another, both with regards to real life and media.
Where did the Sirens learn to sing so beautifully? It’s not like they can go to Juilliard or study music theory out in the open ocean. I’m gonna go ask
looking for animal references on image searches has always kind of sucked but it's much worse after AI image generation technology has begun to actually past muster, which is why i always just go straight to inaturalist. can't recommend this highly enough. you get to both find out about niche species you've never even heard of and also see some really good photographs like this one
The Catalogue of Ships in the Iliad is, to a modern audiences, what classicists have called “boring as hell,” but I can’t help but think that if you were watching Homer recite it it would have been more like when comedians go, “anybody here tonight from Chicago?” and the Chicagoans in the back start cheering
Homer’s like, “and there were forty black ships from… LOCRIS” and the Locrians in the crowd start going absolutely nuts
ive never been able to take "climb him like a tree" as a sexual innuendo seriously because i picture climbing a tree in my mind and then i picture a tall man in my mind and when i put those two things together im not seeing anything sexual. im seeing like. circus tricks.
yeah hyperfixations are fun and all but I feel like I don't hear enough about the other side of the coin. which is, it can be really hard to get into other people's hyperfixations. if you're also the kind of person who hyperfixates on things and you're not into something someone else likes, it can take a ton of energy to match someone's excitement or even show consistent interest.
which. yk. can make me feel like a hypocrite. and I would love to be one of those people who are like . "I love hearing about everyone's hyperfixations all the time!" but I can't. because I also hyperfixate and I can only devote so much energy and time to something that doesn't immediately interest me. and it just sucks in neurodivergent communities because people will get offended sometimes if you say you need a break (which, to be fair, I can get; hyperfixations can feel like a big part of our identities). but like . idk. it makes me feel bad, but sometimes, there's like... a mental block if I've heard about something too many times. I wish I could do something about it. idk
the problem with tumblr spells is all of you lil sluts are casting and not giving it time to charge so you're all casting cantrips and not 9th level death spells. everyone wants to be the one to take them down no one wants to be the one who assists
