intro:
hello! i put off doing an about me for more than a year because it was too daunting... but i'm here now 😙(edited november 2025 x)
i'm effie, (she/her) and i have a wide range of interests (as it will become evident...). this is my main blog and i don't really plan on making side blogs, although i will make sure to note them on here if i do!!
music:
i like to think that i have a wide range in music taste and i'm usually quite open to exploring new music genres!! i am currently trying to expand my cd collection (i have so many cds to buy...)!
⋆ the main genres i listen to include: alternative/indie, most subgenres of rock, jazz in all of its heavenly forms, classical, some pop and also film/tv/game soundtracks!!
⋆ my fav artists are: arctic monkeys (all time fav), aurora, hozier, jeff buckley, laufey, david bowie and tamino
⋆ my fav classical composer is ravel!

film:
i love watching films sooo much! so glad they were invented for real.
⋆ my 4 favourites on letterboxd: the wind rises (2013), past lives (2023), song of the sea (2014) and challengers (2024).
⋆ however, as stated on my letterboxd description, 4 favourites aren't enough!! below are some other films i really enjoy:
⋆ submarine (2010), whiplash (2014), the little prince (2015), red eye (2005), ratatouille (2007), and practically every studio ghibli film (except a select few.... like earwig and the witch because what is that film even)

i love watching shows as well! i love animated shows and also shows with real actors (very descriptive i know...)

books:
i am a big fat book nerd. i love reading and books so dearly... i feel like i dabble in a few genres but mostly fiction, mythological retellings, the occasional classic and young adult books! i do plan on branching out a lot in the next few years (i just need the financing for this 🥱)
⋆ my absolute favourite book series is the raven cycle by maggie stiefvater! i love her dreamer triology as well!!
⋆ i also really like literally all of the books from the riordanverse, although i need to catch up on some of his new stuff! the series i've read from him are: percy jackson, the heroes of olympus, magnus chase, trials of apollo.

⋆ i dabble in video games!! my favourite game of all time is hades (2020)! i'm so excited for hades 2 to release... i also occasionally play stardew valley, sims 4 and minecraft
⋆ i'm not a musical theater nerd but i do love greek mythology. so my favourite musical is, of course, hadestown!! i loooove the live west end recording with all my heart 💗
⋆ i am an artist at heart. (no i'm serious) i like to draw, paint, whatever. but i don't do it as often now! i may post the random sketch now and again...
