Something about how much Bernard loves and cares for others,even those who clearly don't give the same love back,is such a big part of his character that I definitely think was always there.

Like- he's the first to jump up and greet Tim on his first day. He offers advice about classes and shows him around. We of course know his close enough with Darla to at least call him a friend and why the football players are seen around her,the way she's talked about seems more lot people are weary of her more than anything.

Even when she's revived she considers them old friends still,and once she talks and he's able to look more at her he recognizes her immediately and stops being as panicked. They go to a diner and just talk casually like she didn't just destroy his car gdgd.

Bernard's best friends in school were a secret vigilante and a daughter of a mobster. Definitely something for sure

Also that he likes that Tim's neighbors are wierd? And he's willing to stand up for them? That he had to be pulled away by Sparrow why insisting wanting to help Tim with Batwoman?

Bernard having such a big heart for others just so special to me...

Definitely feel he'd be volunteering at soup kitchens and making free meals for others.

He was raised by parents who cared more about themselves and their image,yet came out of it being the complete opposite.

I think its also why I love him as a partner to Tim. He's not scared to jump to his side even with less training. He's someone willing to face the source of his major trauma to save Tim. He makes sure that Tim isn't trying to do everything alone. And all this why not being a hero or vigilante. I love seeing civilians being shown careing for heroes in turn.
