Has anyone been playing Paleo Pines? I sure have and if there's one thing the game does well, it's the dino designs. They're bloody adorable.
So, of course I had to crochet them and why not start with one of my favourite dinos ever, the Therizinosaurus.
This guy was actually part of a crochet AI challenge I did a couple of weeks back.
I wanted to use up some leftover amigurumi pieces, craft scraps and other miscellaneous junk, so I made this. Was kind of going for a dark fairytale kinda vibe.
Got another recruit for the popcorn stitch mini gang: chonky unicorn.
Pattern is here.
I've had the rubber ducky song from Sesame Street stuck in my head for like a week now.
Pattern here.
Beetles come in such an awesome array of shapes, sizes and colours, which makes them the perfect critter to crochet.
This is only a basic/generic pattern but I want to expand on it in the future to create different beetle species.

Wet ferrets.
.....or otters as I guess they're more commonly called.

Okay, so I made these little dudes who I've been calling my 'griffin hatchlings'....
BUT!
Very Important question.
Are they actually hatchlings?? Do griffin's lay eggs or have live young??? I mean, the arse end is a mammal, so maybe not hatchlings????
Anyway, if you'd like the pattern for these, it's here.
So I made a Shinobu Kocho inspired cardigan....
For my second attempt at crocheting clothes, I reckon it turned out pretty decent.
I have a CAL/tutorial for it here if anyone's interested I making their own.
Happy 2023! Hope you all had a good holiday break.
One of my goals this year is to use up as much of my stash as possible before buying anymore yarn.
First up was this chunky yarn which has been sitting around gathering dust for far too long. I thought it would do nicely for the crochet challenge I had in mind....
.....trying to crochet amigurumi entirely by hand!
If you're interested in how that went, there's a full video about my hand crocheting adventure here and if you want the goldfish pattern that's here.
Platypus, one of the creatures that make me go 'wtf, really evolution!?!' and also the second pattern in my aussie animal amigurumi series.
The free platypus pattern is here.
And if you're a sugar glider fan, I got you.
Pochita but mini-fied.
It was supposed to be my platypus pattern that dropped this week but the editing gods were like, haha nope.
So here's Pochita instead, a whole week early.
Hallow Kitty free pattern is up. I loved making these cute'n'creepy little dudes, probably going to add a few more varieties to the line up at some point.....
Find the pattern here.
Cow pattern out now!

Spooky season is here and this October was supposed to be wall-to-wall Halloween themed patterns...
...but I may have been slightly too ambitious with a couple of my designs and they haven't quite worked out. At least not well enough that I'd be okay publishing them. So I'm throwing in a couple of non-halloween patterns this month as substitutes. The first one will be out tomorrow.
Might put a witches hat on one of the cows. That'd make it Halloween-y, right?
It's that time of year again when most of the world is making autumn themed crafts....but you live in the Southern Hemisphere.
....It's Spring, dammit! 😂
Free strawberry mouse pattern is available here.
Kiwi birds are the latest critters to join the popcorn stitch mini's gang!
