The beastly truth is revealed!
(Razputin refuses to allow Lili to see him in his monstrous state, so willfully keeps his eyes green, and claws and fangs retracted.)
Quick premise/word dump on the idea for this chapter when I get to it:
After getting to know Razputin for months after her arrival to the estate, Lili slowly begins to trust and fall in love with him. One snowy night, they almost share their first kiss, but both hesitate at the last second.
Later in the dead of night, as Razputin is desperate, once again, to seek a homemade cure for his vampirism within in the confines of his secret room. For centuries, decades, he's tried every possible tincture and serum combined- but tonight- it held no such hope. Frustrated, pained by another onslaught of failures, he flies into a fit of uncontrollable rage. Lili hears the commotion from her room, waking up to the muffled sound of screams and glass breaking. She worries for her beloved, and rushes down to the study, trying to strain her ears to the sound. She sees a small light come from the far wall and makes her way to it.
When she opens the hidden door that's there, she pales at the sight- seeing the room an absolute disaster and Razputin- her fiancé- as someone that she couldn't even recognize anymore. He sees her and panics. Time stops. Emotions break and blur. Before she could even scream in utter terror, she faints, her body crumbling for the stairs. He catches her, heart breaking. She had seen him- there was no doubt about that. She saw the monster now- the side of him that he had kept away from her for so long; after so much hesitation, yearning, and painfully keeping his fangs back.
He could lie. Tell her that it was all some nightmare that her mind had the misfortune of creating.
But any form of lie would die in his throat the moment she would eventually wake.
He had no choice. He had to tell her the truth- all of it.
Bloody tears drip down from his cheeks, voice breaking, the thought of her leaving him after everything that they had shared together boring into the forefront of his mind. It was a blow that he dared not dreamed of receiving.
"Please, don't leave me..."
(This is all purely sample. But when I do get to the chapter, it shall be glorious!)
Until then, ENJOY this lovely piece that I have created for this fic of mine.
