In light of the Eito novel I’ve seen a lot of people speculate about the nurse who introduced him to reading and what Eito’s thoughts on her were and if he felt any remorse killing her and to me the answer is obvious and also extremely important to understanding Eito as a character.
Yes of course he killed her. Because yes she was nice, and she wanted to help him. But she wasn’t some other kid reaching out to him. She was a nurse. She was a member of the shitty institution that wanted to ‘cure’ him. So she died with the rest of them.
Like a lot of people say Eitos main want is to love and be loved and while that’s very true, it’s most important to me that what he truly wants is to be understood. He wants someone who sees him and all his worst parts and still chooses to accept him, hence why he latches on so quickly to Takumi after sparing his life and why the ‘I’m so glad we cured you’ scene is so gut wrenchingly awful.
The apple of my eye! but lets take it literally
“Would you mind helping me in the shower?”
