I had never heard this song before, but I ended up really enjoying it once I learned how to play it. By the way, it’s actually called “Big House in New Orleans,” but I can only ever remember the line about pumpkin pie.

tubi is an incredible streaming platform you'll go on there and they have like, classic who, and blue velvet, and a fuck ton of silent films, and columbo, and the donnie darko directors cut. And then they also have ants on a plane. Folks they have the hit movie ants on a plane

We practicin’ out here.
I got a keyboard for Christmas and I am SO EXCITED to figure out how to play it!!
So I've been wanting to learn a few songs from Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. I'm still a long ways away from mastering anything, but this is the first bit of 'What We Have is You.' I'm not switching any chords in this because I'm still getting the fingering and strumming down, but I'm pleased with how this is coming along so far.
This is the video I used as a tutorial:
And here is the original song in case you're interested:
Practicing a bit more of the chords for Zombie, and trying to get a bit faster. I think it's sounding a little bit better, but obviously not great. Plus, I haven't played in awhile lol
I've been through the desert On a horse with no name It felt good to be out of the rain In the desert, you can remember your name 'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
This seems like this might be one of the first songs I figure out, since it’s only two chords, and the strumming is pretty fun. I definitely don’t sound as polished as the actual song, but I’ll keep going after it! As usual, I’ve been using Marty’s Music channel to help me along, and here’s the video:
I feel like I may need to cave and get guitar lessons from someone in person because I need someone to tell me what I’m doing wrong with certain things and to give me direction lmao
I obviously don’t sound quite as good as his demonstration, but I think this is a really good bit for me to practice switching chords. Also, if you couldn’t tell, I still struggle with that D chord most of the time.
Finally practicing my first song with chords!! And no, it is not Wonderwall lmao
I haven’t been posting a lot on here, but just know that I have been practicing when I can. I’ve mostly been trying to get better at transitioning between chords, and I’m getting better, but I’m also very intimidated by the next step I need to take, so I’ve been putting it off.
the next step I have in learning guitar is learning how to do chord transitions, but that’s so intimidating to me T__T
Y’all heard about Mary and her lamb?
No foray into music is complete without a serving of Hot Crossed Buns
this is not the first song I wanted to learn, but I suppose it’s a start
