♡ how to take care of yourself after a b!nge ♡
i see a lot about preventing a b!nge, but i don't see much about what to do after b!ng!ng, so here's some tips ♡
take a breath- b!ng!ng will happen! no matter how "perfect" a blog may seem, everyone makes mistakes. don't beat yourself up about it, just take a breath, pick yourself back up, and start again
walk away from the kitchen- this is the hardest part, because for me after i start e@ting, my brain says "well you've already gone and done it now, might as well keep going". it's easier said than done, but try to ignore that thought process
try your best to avoid pürġ!ng- obviously it seems like the "best" option sometimes, but it will ultimately cause more harm than good
sip some water- don't chug water (esp if your tummy is already very full), but sipping water can help flush out excess sodium as well as helping you get through any remaining craving to keep b!ng!ng
don't lay down directly afterwards- go for a walk, do a chore, or at the very least sit up. laying down both messes w your digestion, but also (esp if you're on your right side) can cause the f00d to come back up into your throat. this can cause wicked heartburn, indigestion, bloating, and just all around makes you feel even worse physically
work out, if possible- this helps to burn c@l0ries obv, but can also help move along the digestive process
don't use l@x or water pills- this doesn't help you actually lose w3ight/c@l0ries, it just makes you shit/piss, and can lead to vitamin deficiencies and dehydration
take a shower, bath, or do some self care- b!ng!ng makes me feel nasty and gross, sometimes physically cleaning myself helps those feelings
don't go overboard r3str!cting the next day- this can just lead to another b!nge
forgive yourself- you are only human, this is just a bump in the road. pick yourself up, get back on track, and try to do better next time
