Today I collected research on Ch, Hf, and Lf waxes, and finished my project proposal. Next class I will focus my energy on powder, liquid, and graphite waxes and their uses in skiing.
I found a really good research paper that answers my question on wax. It was done by an undergrad student and is really helpful. http://research.shu.ac.uk/aces/enquiry/index.php/enquiry/article/view/10/16
Hydrocarbon (paraffin) is made mainly of carbon and its more expensive, more hydrophobic cousin fluorocarbon has a higher percentage of fluorine than hydrocarbon and works better to decrease the friction and suction created from the water.
