I’m very excited for the FFVIII remaster, but I’m disliking the changes to Squall more and more. Of all the updated models, he is my least favorite. So I wanted to try and do a quick paintover to kinda see what I didn’t like and the hair is the main thing. But I guess I also made him a bit more masculine too with a wider jaw/neck (oops). New Squall looks smaller and more skinny (they also gave him skinnier pants, noooo I like the baggy more military pants). I don’t know, new Squall obviously has a lot of details and is a better model technically than the old one, but he also looks like a different person and doesn’t match the cutscene Squall much.

Ugh, the remaster is such a big let down. Have you seen what they did to the gorgeous design at the back of the triple Triad cards? I want to kick the creative savant in the nuts.

Ah I haven’t had time to try it yet! Not sure I’ll have much time until the weekend, but it will be an interesting experience I’m sure! I haven’t seen the cards yet! (HD moombas should make everything okay though, right?)

FFVIII Remaster

What version are you guys getting and why?

(The current Steam version has tinny sounding music, so I’m leaning towards getting the PS4 version just in case.)

PS4 for me, I preordered for the theme. But I might double dip if someone makes any good looking mods for the PC version down the line. Maybe even triple dip some time in the future and get it for the Switch as I like playing on the go!
