I sniffed. âHe was a wretched old thing,â I said. âI know,â Lockwood said. âWeâre lucky to be rid of him, really.â âI know.â ââŚI miss him.â I feel him take my hand, warm as we living always are, and familiar in a way I realize Lockwood has become. My hand to hold. My boss. My coworker. My friend. My Lockwood. âI know,â he said, softly.Â
My final piece for the Skull zine. This piece was a labor of love, my darlings. As you might notice in the sketchâwhich you can see on my blog!!â Lockwood looks a bit like heâs wearing some rather fetching eyeliner. He is not. His eyes were just redrawn to death, because I couldnât get them right. This drawing came dangerously close to not being drawn at all, simply because I couldnât get that damn eye right. I know, itâs the age-old artist problem, but it didnât seem very amusing at the time. Iâm quite happy I got it done, even if Iâm not happy with the coloring, as a whole. Perhaps it has something to do with the way I color-corrected this piece, but it looks rather bleached to me. It could also be that I neglected to shade it properly :) I was going for a very melancholy, blinds-drawn, sadness abounds piece, but it all looks very cheerful to me, so Iâm not thrilled with the final product. However, Iâm just happy this piece exists at all. I could actually go back in and darken it up⌠what do you think? It just looks so happy, and we canât have that.Â
Just a girl and her skull, off to take on the world. Or, at least, thatâs what he thinks.Â
Color wise, I think this is my favorite pieces in the project! Itâs also the only piece that I probably wonât upload the sketch for, because I managed to kind of⌠ruin it. :) Which is very sad, because I often like the sketches more than the colored product. To see the non-ruined sketches, as well as the other pieces I did for this zine, check out my blog!
One of the pieces I did for the Skull zine put on by @lockyle-and-skull. Thereâs some incredible art in the zine by some wonderfully talented artists, so go take a look! Iâm so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this project! I had a lot of fun brainstorming ideas, and I ended up having quite a few I didnât end up using for the zine, so, if anyone would be interested in seeing more Lockwood and Co fanart, let me know! If youâd like to see the other pieces I did for the zine, as well as my other Lockwood & Co fanart, check out my blog, and feel free to share this piece with your friends! I would, but I donât have any :)
âGo on, Lucy. Tell him what I said.â âShut up, you.âÂ
Carpooling is always fun. Why on earth the skull jar is out in the night cab is beyond me. I donât suppose the driver would see the ectoplasm glow, though, so they should be alright. I tried a different method in my coloring process for the pieces in this project; what do you think?Â

I think I much prefer the sketch to the finished product. What do you think, my darlings? I always enjoy the process of coloring things, but I find the finished product doesnât have as much soul as the sketch, as my mum always says. Perhaps thatâs because Iâm not sublime at coloring things, yet. What do you think?Â

âAll Iâm saying is, heâs getting fat.â âShut up. He is not.â âHis suits are getting tighter, Lucy. Look at him.â âI am.â âNo, not like that, Lucy.â âLike what?â âLike that! Iâm blushing! And, I donât even have a body, or blood, or skin to blush with!â

The second one shows the skull as a human with Bickerstaff and the bone glass.

My entry for the @skull-zine . It was so much fun!
Probably everyone has imagined this scene and then tried to forget it. This is a kind reminder :â)
The whole zine can be found here (although more entries will be added during the holidays) â> link

My piece for the zine about Skull! It can be viewed at @skull-zine. This was really fun to work on,, I learnt a lot of stuff while doing this piece because Iâve never painted rain before, even though the brick wall hated me the most.
