Social Journalism, in simple words, is the utilization of social media to publish news in which the mass can easily access and engage with. Despite its advantages in sharing news easily, it has also come to the point where people are abusing its power, like how the cases of “chismis” and fake news have been more relevant these days, especially during critical times.

Crowdsourcing, is the act of obtaining a collection of data from various sources. This type of journalism provides an active role for the society to take part in producing news that has different perspectives and ideas. Unfortunately, this has also been abused, such example is the relevance of “troll farms” during the height of the presidential and senatorial election, which led to a lot of people being misguided with fake news.
