A snippet of another game the people who check here. This MCs name is Aurumae.
You land in the main courtyard of the palace. The elven architecture is even more beautiful up close. A variety of plants surround you with various flowers and different colors. Two fountains mark the either side of the the courtyard. A squad of six guards are positioned in front of a big door in front of the elven palace. They wear suits of shining silver armor. Eagle wings sprout up and back from their helmets signalling them to be palace guards of the king.
You transform into your non-dragon form as one of the guards approaches you. The guard has a youthful look about him, although with elves looks can be deceiving in terms of age.
"Draconti Aurumae?" He asks you in a respectful tone.
"Yes, I expect the king is ready for me?" You reply.
"Unfortunately king Torumel is unable to see you. A situation has come up near the green mire that he has gone to deal with."
"Not exactly a good impression to start off my visit." You say disapprovingly.
"To make up for this he has tasked his children to show you around instead. Shall I inform them you've arrived?"
"Yes, preferably quickly." You reply impatiently. You are usually patient but considering your a visitor from the empire, the king should know better than to not be the one to meet you. Regardless the elven guard nods his head and then with clanking boots he goes inside.
It takes longer for someone to come back out into the courtyard than it should and it's the same guard. He approaches you again.
"I'm afraid the royal children need more time. You caught them in the middle of something."
"What could be more important than the representative from Asulium?"
"With all due respect Draconti Aurumae I'll let them tell you, it's more appropriate that they face your wrath is it not." The guard says in a bow with a lowered head.
"Yes l, suppose." You reply.
The guard returns to the door and waits along with the rest of his squad. It takes a while longer as you pace back and forth thinking to yourself how unacceptable this is. What are they trying to hide from you or fix that they would dare to make you wait this long.
Finally after awhile a woman dressed in fancy robes comes out of the door. You assume form the circlet adorning her head that she is one of the royal children. She approaches you with a mask of calm. Bright green eyes betray her nervousness along with an all too obviously forced smile. Kept long blond hairs flows down just past her shoulders.
"Draconti Aurumae sorry to keep you waiting," she bows to you," I hope the wait wasn't too long for you." She says with apology.
"It wasn't unbearable but for future visits you may wish to not keep an imperial representative waiting."
"Of course, Draconti." She says,"care for me to show you around Avendell?"
"Yes, let's start with the palace." You gesture towards the door she came from.
A flash of nervousness comes from here eyes although she maintains her smile. "I assure you it would be better to see the town first. It's beauty is nothing compared to the palace and it's better to save the best for last."
"Enough of these games, what is going on in the palace that you don't want me seeing." A flash of worry goes along her face and her false smile falters." And you can drop that smile of yours. I don't know if this is an off day for you but it's clear it's not genuine."
A look of worry replaces the look of calm on her face. "I assure you Draconti, it's nothing to worry about, my siblings need more time to take care of it."
"Show me!" You demand," I'll be the judge of whether or not to be concerned, oh and you might want to be better prepared for the visit of a Draconti next time."
She gives a defeated sigh and then looks at you with a frown. "As you wish Draconti, this way." She beckons you as she heads towards the door
"What's your name?" You ask her.
"My apologies lady Elmyra, it seems I also forgot some proper etiquette myself." I say trying to put her at ease. It works as she seems less nervous.
"Don't worry about it. It's warranted considering the circumstances."
You follow lady Elmyra into the palace, time to see what's going on.
